Geelong and Warrnambool line sightings

g'day all this thread will be for Geelong line sightings and post any rare movements and locos on freight and pass services
i'll start off the 1st post for the Geelong and Warrnambool line sightings

this afternoon X31 was on 9246 up Waurn Ponds cement train sighted it at Geelong

SCT G's and EL60 best combo on freights!!

Tuesday 23/10:-
8212 (0656 up Geelong) consisted of N451+N460+N4, account a vigilance control defect with N460 the previous night whilst running 8231 (1655 down Marshall), with SN7+PH452.

Departed Geelong on time at 0656 and arrived into platform 5 North at Southern Cross at 0808.

X 51 on the freight today and missing it's bottom headlight.

X 51 did not return to Melbourne last night. Supposedly there was an electrical fault and all headlights were blown. This happened somewhere between Colac and Camperdown. So the train was stopped at Camperdown until the morning pass had crossed and there was enough daylight to continue. A Melbourne or Geelong mechanic came down and fixed the problem however it blew all lights again. So this morning X46 came down on the freight and uncoupled it's load and ran light to Westvic and Pulled last nights load back to Warrnambool. Then 51 was started and took today’s load out. Tonight will be X46 leading 51 and 2 days freight. Should be good to see.

X51 was on Thursdays freight last week (must have the headlight all fixed) and X46 was back in town for Fridays.

X46 was turned about 5:00pm then headed out to Walsh Rd to pick up the Westvic load of 14 VQLX's and a lone VQSW wagon before returning to the Warrnambool yard ready to leave later that night.
