I'd been doina a project on TSM making a W.A. L Class loco.
I'd created the Project for MSTS.

The problem is, When I open MSTS Editor and Tools.
and Making a consist and click on the W.A. L Class loco,

The loco didn't appear on the Preview window while I was creating a consist.

Have I done something wrong? Sad

Sorry but I don’t know much about the MSTS consist builder. All my rolling stock appears OK in MSTS preview so it’s possible there is a problem with your shape file being read by MSTS. Often ShapeViewer will show the model OK but will crash when you try to load it in MSTS. This is why I asked if it worked in game.

Use Conbuilder which is available for download from steam4me or www.train-sim.com (search for cblite.zip or cblite2.zip if using Vista). Build a light engine consist using your model and see if it loads in MSTS or crashes.

If it crashes MSTS then there is probably an issue with your geometry.

You could try running your .S file through the ShapeFix program (also available at train-sim.com) which can resolve these issues sometimes.

If still having problems PM me and I can have a look at your files for you if you want.

Did your shape export ok? Because I had a similar problem when I was making a QR ICE train. (I haven't used TSM for ages now.)

Also, make sure the filename of your shape file and textures do not have spaces in them. For example, you would name your loco something like WA_LClass or WALclass instead of AW L Class. For some odd reason MSTS doesn't like it. Maybe another user could shed a bit more light on this.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Jamie

Shocked Ah, Ok, the space between the words on the shape file is whats causing it not to work.
thanks for that help qr3900, I'll rename them without the spaces, Thanks Again mate
