UTC downloads and SP3 dowloads were culled from the Download station some time ago. If you search the discussion forum you will find a link to the thread where there was a mention of making some of these available on request.

On the other hand, *every version* prior to 2006 is available in a six pack or something like that for a very cheap price on Planet Auran. You might want to consider that, as an option.

Erm, since when were UTC and SP3 downloads removed from the DLS?

Nope, they are still there. Removing that would have caused the loss of a LOT of content.

As for Aussie outline, try these searches on the DLS:
Various rail company names (Such as VR, NSWGR, Victorian, etc)

the following usernames may be helpful:
Les_421
cjlear
john_sb

The following site may also be helpful:
http://www.trainzone.co.nz/

It includes a large Puffing Billy set (Locos won't work in UTC or 1.3 though sorry) as well as climaxs, shays, heislers, and other stuff as well.

I recall a thread on the new forum where Lance Jago said he was going to remove all the UTC exe files.

As far as I understand, and from what I have seen on ftp, that in fact happened. The exe files were archived and a list was made on forum of what was available upon request. A lot of that stuff required work to make the assets appear in 04 and 06

That is my recall.

Your UM since when .. may vary significantly. AFAIK, you can't download those exe files from the DLS now.

Exe files are actually pre SP3.

And, I just tested all the way back to the pre exe files (A .zip file in this case) and they ARE on the DLS.

These are ALL on the DLS, and have to stay. Trainz 1.3 and 1.5 (UTC) is still being sold new in many countries including Australia.

Pre SP3 content goes into UTC fine, but does need to be copied the same location just within the TRS04 folder. SP3 (And UTC) content is made with a CDP, and will go into TRS04 and TRS06 fine, although some 'errors' may show in CMP in 06.

I also did a search on the Auran forums and could not find any information on the removal of the exe files from the DLS.

And next time, please check your facts. I've asked in the Auran Trainz chat room, I've searched the forums, and I test downloaded random files from the DLS. The files have NOT been removed from the DLS.

574M, I know the boxes have been unchecked by default when searching. I don't know why they would remove them. Have not been to the forums in ages though, so can't say about the thread.

Perhaps he was testing reactions? Certainly there is some acceptable stuff that is capped for UTC, which while it could stand to be updated, it's not out of date and over the hill.

Perhaps UTC stuff doesn't work with Classics (don't know, won't move to Classics unless natvander and davido go that way), so they would remove it to eliminate problems with their customers (would surprise me, and thats not me being cynical).
