They were 22 late going through Nth Melbourne due to a Loco Failure at Spencer.

From what I could gather, P15 was the faulty loco.

P15-SH30-SH28-P13 arrived short into Platform 8B/North around 1615-1620 ex Melbourne Yard, considerably earlier than usual. Upon arrival, P15 was looked at by a group of fitters, before the train shunted out towards the yard around 1645.

At 1652 the set was noted arriving into Platform 1, but shunted out to the pass yard again sometime around 1655-58. From here, I believe P15 was detached, being replaced by P12, which formed the 1717 Sunbury ex Platform 1.

8046 (1820 Sunbury - Southern Cross) formed off the arrival of the push pull set into Sunbury departed 26 minutes late ex Sunbury at 1846.

Photos will be online tomorrow!

Noted a pull-push at Southern Cross this morning - the conductors vans were at the west end (opposite to normal) - I presume they ran into Melbourne Yard one was, then came out the other one, resulting in the consist being turned an uneven number of times.

ummm there is only one flagship and i'm guessing VL40 was running that, which is the 1653 service.

Whoopsie Embarassed
What I meant was the 3rd express V/lo service which goes thru Sunbury about 18:13.

P18 and P17 on the Push Pull at Sunbury at 18:01
2 Vl's on the Express V/locity service at 18:13
And finally 5 sprinters on the Kyenton service.

Anyone else notice different Bombardier stickers on some VLocities?

I noticed a sticker with 'Bombardier Transportation' instead of the plain 'Bombardier' on 1202 this evening. Didn't notice any others with it (didn't see any 3VLs to check). New Bombardier logo, or something else?

VL01 and VL02 I think were both outshopped with the "Bombardier Transportation" with logo, while all other units had just "Bombardier". AFAIK VL01 was subsequently changed, leaving VL02 with unique logos

r707's on the ball with this one; VL01 and VL02 had them, but now its just VL02!

Another variation with VLocities which is rarely noticed; later cars out of Bombardier after build/repair (namley 1215, 1141/1341/1241, 1340) have a slightly wider font for the number.

Also, 1204's front number is in a completely different font than the standard.

actually I believe that with 1241, only the 41 is in the wider font, the 12 is in the original form from it's service as 1229.

Back in 2006:

Check out Vicsig or vlinecars' Fotopic for some shots of VL01 during testing, when it had them too.
