Taken out the front of my house, Christmas 2002, Darwin. Taken after a few beers with the old man with a very old Kodak 1MP camera.....still, I think you'll agree it worked!

If you look above the house roof between the trees you will see a bat in flight.

Cheers,

Fatso.

Nice picture there, Controller; I've never really tried getting lightning photos, They're really difficault unless you know exactly what you're doing, Still, I still enjoy taking random pictures of cells and other general weather phenomena

Moving right along; Over the past few years, I've devaloped an interest in Weather, Made a few friends, Discovered a few idiots which dulled my interest because of their arrogance and stupidity, However I still marvel at the awesome power of mother nature.

I tend to take a fair few photos of the sky if I find its doing something interesting but unfortunatly they don't always come out very well.

If I can find it and resize it - I'll post a picture of a shelf cloud coming over my house a few years ago (2003, I think) when Sunbury/Melton got the smeg beat out of it by mother nature.

An interesting interpretation of the different colours either side of a cloud from the cab of a 48 Class.

I've found the best way to take lightning shots, well, with my camera anyway, is to set it on 8 second exposure (the max allowed) and put it on something steady, and hope. Here's the result of the above actions. Taken when I was holidaying at Narrabeen last year.

Well said.
