Hi BuddyALX,
Sorry but point 3 is incorrect. When the person who is making a 3D version of that station has permission then that permission is automatically attached to that 3D version, so you only have to get permission from the 3D maker

Hello Alltrains.
Is that so? Well the actual meaning is still there, which is to get permission from the guy who made the 3D version of said structure before using it in something.

Phil,
If you cannot contact any of the model builders then I am sorry but they cannot be used as they are still covered by copyright.
The only items that you can use are those that you have permission to use and any item that has in the read me that they are free from copyright and are free to use in any way anybody wants to use them

Hi guy's
I thought that I better let everyone know that I made a mistake
in this forum Peter Newell sent me an email like I said to
Peter just afew minutes ago I was mean't to delete that
here's a copy of the email
again sorry Peter like I said I have too much things on my mind
about the big day with railcorp tomorrow
Hi Peter,
I just got off Railpage Australia™ and I just relised that I wrote that I thought
deleted that bit from the forum to be honest with you
anyway I will make contact with the other 3d model
builders I will fix up that mistake asap I'm really about that mate
I thought I deleted it I have things on my mind
about tomorrows big day with railcorp because I mite or may not
get the job
Hi Phillip,
In your thread on Railpage Australia™ you have attributed the following quote:
"Peter told me to copy the people from his readme file
and paste them into my routes credits and thanks file (Readme file) "
At no time have I made this suggestion, in fact I have told you on at least two occasions that you needed the permission of the original authors.
I do not want you quoting my name in the forum again. So please stop saying that I have told you certain things.
Thanks
Peter

I'm going to give you some advice. Quit while you're, well...behind. Way, way behind. Whether you realise it or not you've opened up some old wounds on this forum and offended quite a few significant people in the Australian MSTS community - in short, it's time to stop.

I'm not going to quit mate
no way just to let everyone know I am re-fixing
my routes Shapes, Textures and .Ref files
to remove the ones that I don't yet have permission to
use I had a really good think about it
so I am going to restart over again
well at least I don't have to restart completely
to be honest with everyone
P.S. If anyone got offended in any way when I
used slag words in my messages I am really sorry
about that now I understand I will
never use those words on Railpage Australia™ again and I
got abit out of hand in some forums

Phil
Gavin from Coal Road route here.
Feel free to use anything from my route.
You can include any of my locos and rollingstock, and sound files as well if you like.
Gee, the MSTS Forums havn't been this much fun, since the infamous "City Circle" Route.

As far as I know, Ben Johnson has left the MSTS scene.
However, he has given me permission to continue working on SydWest.
As the now custodian route author of SydWest (on behalf of Ben Johnson), permission will not be granted for the use of any of the custom models in SydWest (unless you do manage to contact Ben and he says otherwise).
This decision was made for the same reasons as Chris has stated for not allowing you to use any part of the Central West Route. If you wish to discuss this further, please P.M. me.
Thankyou

I would like to change the textures of all the stations and somehow fix up
the flying junctions because it's also abit worng from what I looked up in the books I have of Sydney Central Station and inclueding on the internet
the flying junctions have arches on each side and some under it
not with bricks stopping track flow ....... |
Well Phil, you really have upset a lot of people in these forums, haven't you??
Firstly, as far as the Coals to Newcastle route - as well as all the scenery items pre-fixed BBS, there are a LOT of other models in CTN that were made by me (these were made before my involvement with CTN solidified) that DON'T have the BBS pre-fix. Be careful, because I know exactly which models they are, and if it is a question of my copyright, I have the original TSM source files to prove my authorship. You DO NOT have my permission to change any of my texture files.
Secondly, the original aim of CTN was the running of steam era trains into Sydney Terminal - the fact is that the adjacent electric lines over the flying junctions into Platforms 16-23 were only incidental to the aims of the route - therefore I did not want to waste heaps of time making a fully detailed flying junction structure, the structure included in CTN is only a 'quickie' just to give the overall impression, not a highly detailed model.

Yes, I am the author of those BBS shapes, and I am stating quite clearly here - YOU DO NOT HAVE MY PERMISSION TO USE any of my scenery models, shapes or textures, under any circumstances whatsoever - PERIOD.
Phil, I think you need a real 'wake up call' - what you are proposing to make as one route - represents at least double that of ALL the other Route Authors combined have produced in the last 6 years. If you take a long hard look at what you are attempting to do, it would take you somewhere between 5 to 10 years to create.
I am the author of the Northern Illawarra route, version 1.0 is already released, version 2.0 is about to be released 'any day' and I'm working on V3.0 as we speak. Once it is all finished, it will have taken about a YEAR AND A QUARTER, and this is with some included content from Peter Newell and Paul Woozley, and we are taking about a route that IS ONLY 95 miles long!!!!
As I am semi-retired, I put in at least eight ( hours per day, every day (including weekends) into my MSTS ventures - that is well over 50 hours per week and in many cases anything up to 70 hours per week.
I am also the 'co-author' of Peter Newell's CTN, it has taken both Peter and I OVER 3 years to get the route from Sydney to Gloucester and that is with two people working on it constantly.
So, get the REAL IDEA of how long you are going to take to do something as vast as you are intending!!!!
I know that saying anything in forums in CAPITALS is regarded as SHOUTING, but in your case I think that is the only way to get through to your thick skull!!!
I'll give you A - for enthusiasm, but Z - for intelligence.
I would suggest that you start removing all my models from your route immediately, or risk a copyright infringement.
Brian

Moderators,
Where the bloody hell are you - and Mr Howard said that it is OK to say that!
12 months ago you had the Squeekazoid problem that, because you refused to Moderate, cost the railway and MSTS communities enormous hurt, anger, frustration and abuse. Clearly you have learned nothing from that time because yet again we are descending into the same abyss and you are no where to be seen. Again you are providing the forum, bandwidth etc to a person who is blatantly opening up all the copyright problems and wounds of the past and you are no where to be seen. A few weeks ago on the front page of your prestigious site you told certain people to get screwed, and now we have a road rage affected Santa who is uptight because he has locked his christmas cap in the sleigh - real professional stuff - Not!. Until now, I have always given my full support to the Moderators of Australia's premier railway site, however I think it is about time that I join the others who have given up on the hope that this will ever be a professionally run site like UKTrainSim and the other major sites around the Planet. I deeply regret this action has been forced on me, but I have no desire to be a continuing part of a new shambles or a site in which the moderators do nothing to uphold the integrity of the site let alone the many wonderful people/modellers/users of the site.

We are here.
I've been letting this thread (And the Central West Route thread) carry on in the hope that PhilC would recieve some good advice regarding the Copyright issue.
That has now happened, (Some would argue in no uncertain terms) and in order to prevent any more conflicts between PhilC and anyone else, this thread will be locked.
When the time is appropriate, we'll look at unlocking this thread in order to allow Phil to provide some updates on the routes progress, but until then, it has stirred up a hornets nest within the MSTS Community and nothing further can be gained at the present time.
