I am amazed no one reported last nights ESR delays after 2 trains failed and tossed this line into total chaos.

22 run holding the power off
6 run at Town Hall thought it was himself and went into panic mode and started isolating pans.

It all got sorted very quickly and I don't think that it caused many delays.

South Line - Delays of 5-10 minutes

CityRail advises that some trains are being delayed on the South Line following a report of a small paper fire on a train at Cabramatta earlier today.

CityRail staff are working hard to bring services back to normal timetable as quickly as possible. Delays of 5-10 minutes can still be expected.

Surprisingly there has been a minimum of delays and failures this week, and AFAIK anything that has gone wrong has been fixed very quickly. Let's hope it continues on the weekend.

Yep minimal delays due to a lot of staff from all sections of Railcorp sitting around on standbye to jump onto any problems as they arise.

About the ESR. I loved telling "Pilgrims" and regulars that they had to go upto platform 22 Razz Twisted Evil

By the time that we got everyone off 24/25 it was so congested we closed off Devo st. Then we got to tell them to goto the main concourse. Well by that time the problem was cleared and they could all return to the ESR.

Do Do Do Attention Passengers, the 9:17 Empty Train via the Eastern Subburbs and Illawarra line will now depart from platform 4. Please make your way to platform 4.

Newcastle & Central Coast Line - Major delays
CityRail advises that trains have been suspended on the Newcastle & Central Coast Line between Wyong and Broadmeadow in both directions due to a freight train with mechanical problems at Awaba. Major delays can be expected.

Buses are operating a replacement service between Wyong and Broadmeadow until train services can resume.

--------------------------------
The end of the train is in the platform at Fassifern - it's on the up.

Not a delay, but an amazing event - my train from Ashfield this morning which usually comes from and then returns to the city was cancelled, and a substitute empty train showed up presumably from being on standby at Flemo (certainly from that direction) ... if only we got that level of service (anyone remember what that is?) when there isn't an international event on. Confused
