Southern Highlands Line
CityRail advises that a coach service will supplement the 4.35pm service from Campbelltown to Moss Vale due to a train requiring mechanical repairs at Campbelltown. Minor delays can be expected.

Note: Coach Service Smile
It is part of the Emergency Bussing contracts that except in extreme cases an Air-Conditioned service (Endeavour) must be replaced by an Air-Conditioned Coach and not just the local school or town run bus.

That is why closedown substitutions will often have busses from comapnies no where near to where they are operating.

To add to that, that train is usually a 4-car Endeavour pair and is usually quite well loaded, almost a full seated load most times. When either that trip or the 6:22pm service runs as a 2-car set buses are usually called in for overflow.

The rear half of that train usually detaches at Moss Vale and forms a Campbelltown service, the front 2 cars proceed to Goulburn and form a Campbelltown service from there.

Oddly they detach cars from trains at Moss Vale, but in the morning the 4-car sets run all the way from Goulburn Confused

Are you sure about that? It certainly wasn't the case at last weekend's trackwork shutdown.

Standby the next interruption will be that the 614pm Moss Vale to Campbelltown and 738pm Campbelltown to Moss Vale services are cancelled and replaced by busses.
435pm (346pm ex Sydney) Campbelltown to Moss Vale service divides 2 cars to Goulburn 2 cars to the 614 service.
622pm Campbelltown to Moss Vale divides 2 cars to Goulburn 2 cars stable.

The two morning runs start as 4 at Moss Vale so as to not have to delay them at Moss Vale attaching enroute. (Personally I would run them all as two cars and run more frequent in peak but that will never happen, BTW I did suggest it too).

Well that was the procedure/requirement, but I have been out of the Cityrail Emergency bussing loop for 8 years and the railway itself for 1 year so could have changed.

Newcastle & Central Coast Line - Major delays
CityRail advises that trains have been suspended on the Newcastle & Central Coast Line between Gosford and Wyong in both directions due to essential overhead wiring repairs at Lisarow.

Numerous bus companies have been contacted, however due to their own commitments only a limited number of buses are available to operate between Gosford and Wyong.

STA buses are recognising CityRail tickets in the Newcastle area.

CityRail recommends travellers delay their journey or make their own alternative arrangements. We suggest customers call the Transport Infoline on 131500 for the latest recorded updates before going to their station.

Repair crews are on site and working to restore train services as soon as possible. At this stage there is no forecast of when the line can be reopened. Further information will be provided as information becomes available.

This was due to a service pulling off part of an over head arm that had been moved maybe due to high winds and also set H19 missing part of it's pantograph and at 11pm it was still sitting in the up refuge.

At least it didn't fail again with you behind it. Wink

Was some delays around Liverpool this morning after a freight train broke down. My 9:05 ex. Campbelltown train via Granville ended up being run via Sydenham stopping first at Redfern, then to City Circle via Town Hall.

The staff were saying delays of around 30 minutes this morning, but does anyone know how long it took to get fixed up? I ended up going to City, then back out to Penrith and it only took 30 minutes longer than usual, really fast express trains rock!

If I do guess right, and I don't reply within 6 hours you can assume "open floor."

It would'nt have taken too long as they'd only have to send a loco from Chullora, Botany or Yennora to assist.

trains coming from the shore towards the city just before 4:00 (and according to the indicator screen another just before 5:00) were going to normanhurst and terminating there instead of the regular destinations at emu plains, any reason why?

Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra and South Coast Lines - Major delays
CityRail advises that trains are being delayed on the Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra and South Coast Lines in both directions due to a Pacific National Freight train with mechanical problems at Como. Major delays can be expected.

Bus companies have been contacted to operate a replacement service between Hurstville and Sutherland.

Train stopping patterns may change at short notice. CityRail advises customers to listen for announcements and check indicators before boarding trains.

Let me guess, Coalie failed on Como bank
