Looks like they've started official revenue service.

Report just then on Channel 10. There will be one on Nine, and I'm not sure about Seven.

Will go out spotting them tomorrow. Should be heaps fun. "Bumble Bee #1!"

Wonder if they'll be called a B class... Wink

As we all know, the current B class is called B2, save the two prototype B1s. The boards themselves just display the number, so it wouldn't interfere. I doubt they would be numbered from 1 again, it would conflict with the few Z1s still in service, although I don't think it would live at Glenhuntly! I'm guessing these will live at Southbank and do 'train track' shuttles. Unfortunately, I missed the news.

C2.5123 just ran out of Southbank at 0925 on an extra service to east Brunswick, it may have gone via La Trobe St due to a defective D2 in Bourke St.

This is a shot of a new yellow Melbourne tram taken in Bourke st looking west. Taken around midday on Tuesday 10th June 2008.

P.S I have never seen these trams before and no nothing of the details behind them but here's a pic anyway.

The second leased Mulhouse tram, original number 2013(to become 5113) was delivered from Webb Dock to Preston Workshops today. The first two sections were transported in the very early hours and the remaining three sections departed Webb Dock at 1305 arriving at Preston at 1410.Once unloaded R10 used their truck to tow the modules onto the traverser for positioning into one of the rear sheds.
Here's two pics:

Managed to catch one without trying yesterday. Not a bad tram. They are visibly longer than the D2 from inside, and they are a smooth ride.
The interior looked more roomy than the D2 for some reason, but could have been an illusion.

Having said all of this, first impressions I like the D2 interior more visually.

Also has rear exit doors, though they have a "Door Not in Use" sticker...probably the trams are too long for the platform stops. Any tram design with a rear door gains extra points in my book.

Personally, I would have to say though that I preferred the Combino Plus / Supra.

Hmm, I'm finding it exceedingly difficult to find the tram buzzing around.

Any suggestions. These past few days i've been seeing more non-low-floor trams around the 'work.

I'll just have to keep looking.

Be aware that the majority of our fleet is non-low-floor, and they are doing good job.

I'm aware of that. Im probably just used to seeing more low-floors about.
Though quite impressed to see a B1 out doing rounds.

The hunt for Bumblebee 1 continues.

Bumblebee 1 was taken out of service this afternoon in Nicholson St at Victoria St after a fault developed preventing the tram from running above 40kph.It shunted back from the Exhibition St buildings and returned to Southbank depot.
