So they are having the rear doors isolated because of the platform lengths? What about non-platform stops?

Bumblebee 2 (2013/5113) was visible inside Southbank depot today, the livery includes some bumblebee imagery along each side plus the slogan "now buzzing along the route 96".
I understand it will enter service early next week.

Well, Most D2's if they have a tram in front, will still open it's doors at a non-platform stop, outside the 'safety zone.' Don't see any issues if the C2 follows suit. Most pax end up crossing across the road anyway instead of trekking up to the lights.
Did end up catching Bumblebee 1 yesterday. There are quite a few unique distinguishing features.
One is this particularly odd "Dinging" noise (no not the gong). But from within the tram. I thought it was if you pressed the "Next Stop" button, and when I tried it didn't make a sounded. Then I thought it was an hourly beep for the time. Can anybody shed light unto this?

If like Adelaide, Melbourne trams have vigilence control fitted and you were sitting next to the cab, could very well be the vigilence going off.

It is the next stop chime, it has a slight time delay.

It scared me when I heard it as it is the exact same sound byte used for my log on noise on my computer's wifi dongle. I was with my mum and we thought it couldn't be.

C 5113 was on the road this morning for about 70 mins, possibly a promotional trip to East Brunswick and return.

I knew there was something Microsofty about the sound! (Then again, the tram run's on some form of Windows anyway)

There's nothing wrong with Windows 3.1! As long as it's not Windows ME...... god, that was horrible......

C 5113 ran out from Southbank depot today at 1330 heading to Nth Fitzroy, on the return trip a low key photo shoot was held at the intersection of Bourke and Spring St's.The tram was then allowed to carry pax as far as Port Jnc before running back into Southbank depot. It may have run out again for the evening peak.
The fourth Mulhouse Citadis, 2006/5106 was transported from Webb Dock to Preston Workshops today, the final three modules arrived at around 1550.
C 5123 was removed from service late this afternoon in Nicholson St after a fault developed restricting it's speed to not above 40 km/h, it ran back to Southbank depot via La Trobe St.
