We do have museums where trams can be seen and in some cases ridden. Let's not forget Bylands either, nor Ballarat.
But Melbourne itself does not have a tramway museum other than half a former depot, packed so tight with trams it makes viewing and photography tricky, open once a month and virtually unknown outside the gunzel network.
Those trams also cannot do what they were built to, namely carry passengers from A to B.

The low-floor trams have an advantage on the 96 because of the majority of platform stops between St Vincents Plaza and St Kilda Terminus - This allows faster loading and unloading than a B2 because of the wider doors and the ease of stroll-on/stroll-off - B2's have narrow doors and steps which take longer to get in and out of.
The Z1's were a good tram but they're just not suitable in this time; Their dwell times are too high. We need to be focussing on a fleet renewal - The main reason for keeping Z' class really in this time is only for mid-low traffic routes like the 78/79 (I can't say honestly how trafficable they are) but the 82 which doesn't go much past full-seating+a few standing.
This lease of trams is a great idea, It's gonna do wonders for Alstom in my oppinion; More than what the Combino plus did for Siemens - I just hope that Alstom or Yarra Trams have similar promotions than for the Combino plus (Keyrings, Postcards, Posters, Badges etc)

But Route 96 doesn't go through St. Vincents Plaza, that's 109.

Strictly speaking, my point still stands. It does have a stop outside St Vincints Hospital, but the Plaza is between Gisboure and Brunswick Streets. Route 96 doesn't go through there, or is St Vincint's Plaza the name for the actual Hospital. Wikipedia admin and developer Tim Starling once had an operation there.

That map correctly shows the 96 stopping at St Vincent's Hospital, not St Vincent's Plaza. The 96 stops on the western, Nicholson St side of the Hospital, not the southeastern corner where the "St V's Plaza" mini-station is located.
The Nicholson St stop is a regular, no-platform stop.

That was a mistake on my behalf, Consider this a correction;
The platform stops are between Parliament Station (Corner Spring and Bourke Sts) and St Kilda Terminus with exception of Corner Spencer and Flinders Streets and Port Junction.

I'll state again for the benefit of the others - we have no Loftus
We have no Ferny Grove, we don't even have a Bennett Brook.
Bylands is hardly known and is not comprehensive. There's supposed to be something at Haddon but again not the full quid. Hawthorn, as you've said Gwiwer, has some distance to go.
Ballarat and Bendigo are primarily there to preserve their respective cars - which have no connection with Melbourne (and more connection with each other historically)
And where are the cable trams? And the horse trams?

Actually its German name (Mülhausen) does in fact mean house of mills. In Alsatian, the form is Milhüsa or Milhüse, both pronounced [mɪlˈyːzə].
