Um, in South Australia, Adelaide to Mt Gambier is 305 miles. Add another 30 miles to Gawler (or Two Wells), and I have a feeling that that makes the Adelaide, Hills and South East route by far the biggest route for continuous running!!!!!!!!!!!!
If we really wanted to push the envelope, Brian, by utilising the Adelaide Gaol and Outer Harbour loops we could actually double the distance of non-stop continuous running - Mt Gambier - Adelaide - around the Gaol loop to Outer Harbour - around the loop back to Adelaide and thence to Mt Gambier - 750 miles give or take 1%. Crew changes and fuel would require some stops of course, unless you fiddle the .eng files. Also having to go to work might also be an impediment, too.
I am led to believe that there are a number of other stats for the Adelaide route that are also significant.
Cheers

You're right, Allan - the SA routes are longer - however, as my original comments were related only to the existing NSW routes, I would have thought that my reference to CTN being the longest route would have been obvious without having to include the statement 'NSW'.
However, that's probably because I just assumed that readers would be able to see what I was saying!!!! But that's my mistake - loooooooooooong live the South Australian Railways!!!
Regards, Brian

Phil, you haven't heard a word that I've said.
As far as I'm concerned, you can keep giving others your 'expert advise', and if they mess up their MSTS routes and installations by following your 'expert' advice, then that is their problem!!!!!!!!
Last year you made an agreement with me; that I would stop posting rubbish in your MSTS topics and that you would stop posting rubbish in my MSTS topics - yet again you have ignored this agreement and fill my Illawarra topic with rubbish!!!!!!!!!!
Now, to answer a few other questions, posted by others:
Main Illawarra V3 <<< IS >>> finished - it has been for some time - I sent it to the 'publishers' some time back, but the 'publishers' have a very big backlog of MSTS stuff to process, that was in the queue before they received my route - so, it is simply a matter of time - you (and I) will just have to wait until the 'publishers' have time to weave their 'magic wand' over the route and create a professional installers package out of what I sent them!!!!
As far as the exact release date? - how long is a piece of string!!!!
Marvin, don't worry about the 'insensitive' comments, I'm so used to them at this stage they just go over my head like water off a duck's back!!!!!! I'm building the route to satisfy me, not anyone else, but if someone else can get as much enjoyment out of it as I had when building it, then it has all been worthwhile!!!!
Ben, the merge of three NSWGR routes might not give you the 'hours upon hours of driving' that you want - however it will give you around 3 1/2 hours for an express, and around 5 to 6 hours for a goods - all according to the original NSWGR working timetable.
However, the 'current' longest MSTS run at present is Peter's CTN from Sydney to Taree - 237 miles of continuous running!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll post further news about Main Illawarra V3 when there IS something to report about - until then, just wait for it!!!!
Regards, Brian |
I am very sorry Brian, I honestly forgotten about the agreement we had. I just go...
Regards Phil
