I will be there as well, a large Aussie N contingent with two awesome layouts (Wallan and Shelley), Spirit Design and myself. Between us we should have the majority of Aussie N products available on display.
And just like every year I have a bundle of wagons and locos that never get finished before the show. It least the stalls give me a chance to increase the size of the pile.
I'll be going, can't wait. Will have to have plenty of money on the bank for this visit. Should be good.
I have booked my flight down and will be there on the Sat.
You N scalers arn't trying to take over our exhibition i hope Rob LOL
ohh dont forget to check out the new N scale decals that i will be releasing
ohhhh geez im just as bad as them ...................
Welcome to the "N" side Bill
We will be bringing "Fairfield" down from Queensland. Long trip for the weekend but are looking forward to showing off some QR modelling.
PGC Scale Models and Black Diamond Models will also accompany the layout with our full range of products available over the weekend.
Please come and say G'day and hope to catchup with alot of modellers on our trip south.
Phil Hadley and Glenn Wright.
Is anyone able to give us an update on what layouts will be at this years Hobsons Bay exhibition? I look forward to seeing Fairfield but what other layouts of note are going to be there? I know that Chris from Spirit Design will have the Old Wallan layout (Completly rebuilt, he tells me, set to an overhead picture circa 1974) now that will be good to see.
One layout I am yet to see in the flesh, but have always wanted to, is East Mateland. My Uncle Don used to be the Station master there, on the real thing, not the model, so any info on what is attending will be most appreciated.
Korumburra, by the VMRS, will be appearing at Hobsons Bay, its first exhibition.
Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends will be on display for the next generation of modellers to operate. It will be manned by the Croydon Model Railway Club, I'm rostered on for all day Saturday. See you there.
I'm assuming that this is Thomas the Tank Engine in P4 to fit in Hobson's Bay's reputation for high quality modelling.
For Aussie N we will have:
Wallan. This nearly 30? year old layout has been significantly revamped and looks fabulous. A lot of effort has gone into getting it right and to scale using aerial photos, ground photos and interviews (such as owners of houses in the area). The models that will be on it will also do justice to the subject.
Shelley. Shelley is another layout demonstrating the benefits that can gained by high scenery to train ratios you can achieve in N.
I'm sure their will be other great layouts in other scales as well, I was very impressed last year. Always something to learn regardless of the scale or gauge.
Not P4, aged 4+ (4 months old+, that is)
wash your mouth out with soapy water!
As the inaugural President of Hobsons bay and one who pushed for our first Exhibition to be "all Australian" I got to tell you that it was our members children who made Thomas and friends honarary Australians for the Easter period, and it has continued on ever since then.
However it is my 7 year old Grandson and his 5 year old brother who now ask if Thomas is coming this year (their names are Casey and Billy. Real Thomas kids, they is! )
And the young ones who demanded the first appearance, are now quite the young ladies, and usually take charge of the AMRA Thomas layout when it visits.
Ill be coming to the expo not sure what day
I'll probably be going on Saturday.
Looking forward to this show with my EMRC hat on !!! Will be there Sat& Mon.
We will be travelling up from Hobart with
Wimmera (Victorian) and East Tamar (Tasmanian)
Does anyone from HBMRC, have a list of the other exhibits not mentioned here yet? Also what retail stands are going to be there? I am going anyhow, just thought it would be nice to know. See you there
