Any truth to the rumour that CLP16 has been swapped for GM30?

For lease - depot, slightly used but recently renovated...

Dream on, what's GWA going to get out of that? Seeing as CLP16 has come off lease to PN it looks likely that its going to WA for a while. Will brighten up a few railfans day in WA no doubt; seeing as some think its getting boring look what turns up!

Mate, if that loco pulls as hard as you do, it'd move anything.
I'd still rather have an ALCo.

So CLP16 is on hire to ARG?

Looks like GM30 is dead anyway as the wheels appear to be headed east..

CLF6 was on hire to PN too so ARG may get that too, depends on GWA requirements. GM30's got wheels? Laughing
I never could/can see the point in the project, rebuild a 3000hp loco on a 50 year old frame? , perform like a decent unit (not likely), no fuel range (6800l tank on a 3000hp unit is useless just look at the XR/81/RL).
A futile exercise trying to 'save' money instead of buying new fuel efficent, high performance locos. Spend dollars to save cents...... Rolling Eyes

Rolling Eyes[/quote] This project was commenced by previous ownership of ARG. The new ownership has ordered new locomotives. Anyone want the reconditioned 645 engine fitted to GM30 thats just sitting out in the rain.

GM30 is sitting outside ARG Forrestfield wrapped all over in white plastic covering appears could be on a trip interstate for this job to be completed. Reconditioned bogies have supposedly already gone east.
