VL41 went on another 3+2 car set today, arrived into Newport at 1231.

It was timetabled to go down to Geelong again a few hours later, but I believe it ended up pissing off early, when I was going closer to Geelong to get more shots I saw a blurred VLocity going the other way to me at a time when no revenue services were due.

Get your testing pics while you can!
I believe today may be the last day/night of testing......
Werribee - Lara in the daylight and Bacchus Marsh - Bank Box tonight.

I've been informed it will be transferred back to Bombardier tomorrow morning.

I got some shots of it at Southern Cross last night before it went off for its night testing between the Marsh and Bank Box:-

The testing has been completed! All that remains is for the results to be evaluated and the appropriate signatures to be obtained. The 16th has been hinted at as a possible date for entering service but at this stage that looks a little optimistic, more likely at this stage to be early the following week.

Spotted VL41 at Franklin Street on Wednesday while i was coming into Southern Cross.

Also spotted VL41 near Dandenong coming from (I assume Traralgon) on the centre track. That was on Thursday.

To sightings in two days!! Very Happy

From the Weekly Notices 1/7/08

V/line Passenger Engineering Department has advised that the new Vlocity DMU Unit No. 41 (Three Car Set)
will be operating on the Network from Tuesday 1st July 2008 under VLP accreditation.
The Vlocity DMU (Three Car Set) is authorized to operate on all lines previously approved for the operation of
the Vlocity DMU (Two Car Set) with existing restrictions still to apply.

Hopefully it will go on the 16.53 to bendigo Razz

I ran into VL41 at Southern Cross today:

It goes on and on inside... (from 1241 to 1341)

Tray tables in 1341 - but only in the end away from the disabled dunny (towards the 1241 car):

Wheelchair spaces at the 1141 car end of centre car 1341:

Inside 1341:

Tray tables inside 1341:

And in the cab:

Three engines: Wink

Modifications to car 1241 - minus the two flip up seats, and gained a water fountain and intercom:
