I keep downloading the Gmax 1.2 exe file, but it says that it will install the program but installs 'fraps' video recording instead.
Please Help.

Where did you get the download from? Try downloading from a different source if possible.

I just downloaded gmax from TurboSquid to test.

When I run the installer then gmax installer appears not FRAPS.
If you are sure that you are running the gmax installer then it’s possible that the FRAPS installer is being invoked by the MSI (Microsoft Installer). This can be due to FRAPS not having been installed cleanly or the MSI is mangled.
If you try and install another program that uses MSI like ShapeViewer does this install OK or does FRAPS appear as well. In most cases the FRAPS installer is looking for the *.msi file that come with the FRAPS installer. There is usually an option to browse to this file. If there is then find the FRAPS msi file the MSI is looking for and browse to it to allow the FRAPS installation to complete. If that does not fix the problem then you may have to uninstall FRAPS which may resolve.
If none of the above works then you will have to provide either detailed posts as to what the exact sequence of events and error messages are or screen shots of what’s occurring and I may or may not be able to assist you.
