I think this hast to take the cake as one of the most fugly kettles ever.
Anyone seen anything worse?

Actually - that's the Algerian Railways garratt - 4-6-2 + 2-6-4.
It was at one stage in 1938 intended to be modified for use in NSW as a 4-6-4 + 4-6-4 and used as an Express passenger locomotive. Harold Young went on a trip to Algerian and rode on this locomotive and was very impressed by it. However, Chief Commissioner Hartigan rejected the proposal.
Reference source - 38, John Thompson, Eveleigh Press, 1992 - pages 7 to 10.
Aren't we lucky that the magnificent 38 class Pacifics were built instead!!!!

I was almost going to nominate the Britain's No 10000, as the fugliest loco ever to roll the rails. But then I was reminded that of course the CLEAR winner is:

Your name suggests you are from NSW or at least like NSW locomotives, kind of peculiar considering
48's and 830's are practically the same, as are 44's/930's, 700's/442's, 42's/GM's, PL's/DA's

Not that fugly but when gunzelling in the hunter seing 82 and 90 every hour gets boring after a while so gotta head north to Werris Creek to see stuff that has more grunt and noise, the old Alco or GM loco engine sound dose justice over EMD smeg anyday, even the horns on these older things have more style, 82 and 90 class horns are to plain with no character.
With steam I like pretty much anything.

T class are awesome, I like there bulky look.
With SAR steam locos I wish that a 720 was still around, but fave SA class would be the 700 class followed closely by the RX class.

Why hasn't anybody nominated the NR class yet?
