Very interesting news indeed! Hopefully someone can get some pics of this movement. Has it been confirmed that their replacement will be the two V Set carriages, 42101?

Tulloch cars both ways? I wouldn't count on it. Pity all the movement will happen in the dark. Still, it's gotta stop still every now and then, surely.

Cool

=) Delicious, FS74.

Let's make this simple as pie.

Two tulloch cars from Auburn go to Petersham.

Two tulloch cars from Petersham go to Chullora.

Hence, Auburn loses 2 Tullochs; Petersham has a net gain of 0, and Chullora gains 2 Tullochs.

But yes, pity it is dark.

Might be worth going down to the bridge or the roadside at Petersham to see what all the action is about - even if photos might not be possible.

Still, get your photos of the tullochs there while you can - it'll be an interesting thing to look back on, I imagine.

There are NO tulloch cars at Maintrain there are however 2 x Interurban cars awaiting moving to RTC so these would be the cars involved.

I suppose it's possible that they could acquire some more Tullochs and pre position them at Maintrain and that they might be mad enough to swap those for the two they already have at Petersham. Maybe there's some reason, not readily apparent to you or I, for wanting not this old Tulloch but that one. Stranger things have happened.

I think Greg's scenario is slightly more likely. I mean, it's not like STN's are super accurate, nor the people who write them always knowledgeable in every aspect of the planned operation. They may say Tullochs and get V set cars, the STN will still work that way. We'll see after the weekend.

Trains in worksites are always stopping for this or that, lift protection, wait for some truck to get off the line... It'd probably be possible to get a nice night shot of it somewhere.

Although I cannot see a TOC Waiver for it, it may be that those Tullochs at Petersham can only be moved if additional cars are involved as cover trucks/wagons/carriages for braking purposes.

Are the two cars at Petersham included in the Heritage Sale items Question I ask this as I do not recall seeing any Tullochs in the tender document or the car numbers located there.

Would the movement of the Tulloch cars have anything to do with the fact that Petersham College is closing soon for a refurb?

Certainly does, the extensions to RTC will be in that area. The East Wing no doubt.
