Unfknblvble !

I, for one, am quite serious.   The filter is mangling a perfectly legitimate and by no means "dirty" sentence because in some parts of the USA the word "c-o-ck" is held to be indecent.

Yet it allows the term for male - male anal intercourse - buggered - quite freely.

Why? Because the term isn't in use in the USA, or because it has been, in the past at least, enshrined in the law?

We are Australians - why do we need a filter based on American english?

Funny thing about that swear filter is that there are thousands of words, phrases and insults that are available and not touched by any filter.

It is said that a man has more names for a penis, than an eskimo has names for snow.

And if you think that's being naughty well then let me say "your Mother wears army boots"

Well we now have the report function and it is working brilliantly at stopping the idiots so we realy dont need the smeg filter anymore and lets face it the F word does need to be used every now and then plus the fact that in real life it is used by near everyone every day.
Man get a rail job and you will hear the word in bulk all shift.

It might be used in real life, but how many of us say it around 12, 13 year old kids?

There are also those who simply don't want to read post after post saying "f-you, you twat" - and they're just as much a part of the forum as you are.

At the moment the discussion isn't about removing it, it's about changing "smeg" to something else and reviewing the list of words that are censored.

Bloody is another one that needs to be reviewed as well, as it was a bloody battle, it is not swearing but describing the the actual battle!

Also D i c k as in a name like Tom, D i c k and Harry!

Although not specifically saying anything else, the existing options for the poll don't (at least to me) suggest that, or at least don't state it implicitly.

"get rid of 'smeg'" could be taken as getting rid of the filter altogether, which I wouldn't support (I know it's goint to shock everyone to hear I disagree with Greg, but I DON'T think the f word is truly needed here) although I would support a review of the list, and of replacing the word "smeg" with something else. I'm sure the people of smeg appliances would appreciate it too.

Railpage Australia™ wouldn't be the same without smeg - I vote to retain it as the filtered word (if the filter remains).

People who talk out their asre usually have bad breath.
