I won't.

It looked good for the first five minutes, but after it got dirty it was the same as the Wallyrail colours - sh*thouse. It looked awful with the ad-hoc Wallyrail logos as well. Would have been better to simply alter the decals. Hindsight is a wonderful thing...

Looking forward to seeing B80 back out and about in the CFCLA colours though.

We all hope B80 stays on BG. With EZ needing motive power, it could well happen.

One thing I find kind very odd...Some people need to get over WCR's demise - it's been a good 4 - 5 years since they finished up. Isn't that long enough to mourn?
It may have been good while it lasted, but alas, nothing lasts forever. It's interesting that some people will cry about WCR's passing, yet you don't see people lamenting GNRS or FA's demise to the same degree, or even at all. Strange.

A few people need to remove the black arm bands and move on.

Sorry for the rant, but it is getting old rather quickly. Even dalts1985 has moved on!

You bellowed Question Twisted Evil

Quite frankly I find the less time I have for anything other then work, the less I give a darn about my hobby... sadly...

I don't see a point getting stuck in the past... like a twisted stick in the mud... Sure it's nice to reminisce... ( Spelling Question Embarassed ) but things change & so does the world be all live in... Sept. 11 & Bali are testimaents too that as extreme examples... & the world learns to move on, to it's next biggest challenge that looms around the corner...
(What the Hell, does that have to do with RP. Aust, I can see you all askin' / sayin' Question ...
The truth, nothing really, just the only example I could scrap off the top of my head on this miserable Sat. afternoon...)

You were not. Also, some of the views you put forth previously contradict what you are saying now.

About the only thing you said which could come close to the truth was:
ethansx49 wrote:

which is true, although it looked pretty awful after it faded and got dirty - like the WCR livery.

ethanx49 wrote:

Bollocks!

There are plenty of memories. Plenty of video and photos, not to mention those associated with the company. The memory is alive and well it would appear. I have some terrific video and photos of their trains - even an interview with Gary McDonald where he talks at great length about the company and it's objectives.

I am sure even A no 1 would even agree with me (reluctantly though...), that the memories live on. It's when people get obsessive and treat the comapny as some "sacred cow" that there becomes a problem - something I never accused you of.

It is the constant attitude some have that WCR could never put a foot wrong or should never have ended. This is what erks me. WCR served it's purpose, and like anything it's time had come, hence the "nothing lasts forever" remark. It's time to move on.

You and me both.

However, this is only the wishes of a few gunzels on a railway forum on the internet. What happens with B80 and where she ends up is up to the company who own her, and the company who hires her.

Yes Rev

I have moved on but I still take pride in the work that myself and others have done

I take exception to anyone who denigrates that work even after 5 or 50 years after

I was at Junee last week and saw S300 sitting in the roundhouse and I had the pride to show others the work that I done to that loco witch is still visible despite it carrying a different coat of paint!

That's excellent.

But...Who in this thread has denigrated your work? The only thing that has been said is that both the Murraylander and WCR colours look cruddy when they are dirty and faded - something that I wrote.

May be not in this thread but it has in the past

Getting back to B80 I started at Ballarat east the week they started to paint B80
I know for a fact that it was the most expensive and elaborate paint job done by WCR

Uh Rev... there are still a lot of people who haven't stopped mourning blue and [gold|yellow|buff|manilla] VR livery and the old VR way of doing things. It's their history, the scene they grew up with. I just happen to have grown up with WCR and GNR - to say nothing of Hitachis and green Comengs.

(Yes I do mourn GNR - have a look on my Facebook profile.)
