I noticed this morning what looked to me like two heritage locos in the process of being coupled to a couple of hoppers and perhaps a rake of the retired Tulloch double decker cars (not sure about this). This was happening this morning around 10am at the carriage workshops at Eveleigh. Anyone know what was going on there?

Yeah, 4468 and 4918 brought them (along with a lone ballast wagon) into Chullora this afternoon. Plenty of shunting action, and they were quite a shock. They also moved around a couple of flat wagons and an old 4-wheel engine block carrying wagon (that was it, yeah Greg?) that Greg was saying probably haven't moved for decades.
We saw the 49 shunting them into the sheds and around the back of Chullora. Quite impressive, as they had to stop shunting constantly to allow the normal mainline traffic, as well as NR59 shunting PacNat trains...

I seem to remember your mad raving about the Railcorp Heritage Firesale, and how these cars are getting sold and blah blah blah.
This would have something to do with the aforementioned sale - they were moving all the cars to Chullora.

I'm pretty sure that the wagons are part of the firesale, but the listings say that no double deckers are for sale.

Perhaps this is a seperate sell off? We've all known for some time that a number of Tullochs are being onsold. Might be in a different tender as these are not "heritage" per se - might be getting sold to the highest bidder, be they a scrap merchant or a museum.

Not sure as one of the Tulloch's that was at Elston's was T4799 or C3803 which is pretty historical.
Anyway at least its covered now.

Who owns 4468? I didn't know it was a heritage engine-I thought it still works on frieght duties.
Cheers.

4486!.
Its owned by Lachlan Valley Railway and is on loan to 3801ltd.
Where is 4468 now anyway? Still in Melbourne?
Correct authority was obtained for all photographs in rail corridor and depots. note that some are taken from the cab.

No need to Raichase, I got excited because I thought they had finally retired it to tour working!

I understand that some of the Tullochs may belong to Dorrigo.
Cheers
