Dragging them to Albury seamed odd.

Are these units ex Dynon Loco ?

Reading elsewhere that their first destination was Seymour, I'd guess for return to service works.

Do we know if these locos have been sold to CRT, or if they're on hire from PN?

I noticed in the latest edition of Motive Power magazine that 3 former PN Y class locos have been sold to a private rail company based in, I think, NSW. From memory the locos were standard gauge 115, 151 & 169 and are/were in Seymour for overhaul and repaint. The article mentioned that PN must have caved in to political pressure and finally seen the light to sell locos and not scrap them.

Who has the Ettamogah contract again?.... PN.

You assume that SCT are trying to buy a PN-owned locomotive to use as a shunter... Easy to villify PN for scrapping locos but if nobody *wants* them...
