Last year its was only 2 months from the first assesment session to actually starting at Petersham, so for those lucky enough to get through, its isnt all that long a wait. Good luck with it all.

I too have also made it through the first assessment centre & have my next assessment centre on the 14th.
I was sure I had done horribly on the SCATT(hand hurting like hell & a vibrating phone in my pocket arnt good things) like a few others have thought, but clearly not horrible enough Mr. Green

I was suprised to see they called back so quickly as its only been a few days & their out look was at least a week nearly two

The HR advisors told my mate that the intake was for January next year. So unfortunately he will have to wait a fair bit, even if he makes it in.

I didn't get accepted for the current CityRail intake ('re'-intake in my case) due to 'previous employment history with RailCorp', but that was hardly surprising. Rolling Eyes Had to have a go though.

Good luck to everyone who gets accepted into the training programme - it's pretty thorough now and encompasses a lot of wishy-washy stuff as well as the real core training, but the wishy-washy parts can come in handy in unusual circumstances.

Craig.

Your lucky that you have heard that much, havent even heard a thing from these clowns about my application. Can't understand why it so hard for qualified guys to get a job in Australia?

RailCorp knows it can pick and choose who the company likes because there is such a huge level of dis-employment in the industry and especially in Sydney where general unemployment is quite high.

When the 'market' for jobseekers is depressed, they are much more relaxed about picking new staff, as witnessed around the time of the y2k olympics, and during 2004/5 also.

Craig.

I think RailCorp tried to call me today, got a missed call from a private number at about 10 past 2 - They didn't ring back today, hopefully they'll ring back tomorrow (if it was them!)

Good Luck to those in waiting.

I got an email being more specific of what the assessment centre would involve.
Couldnt help but chuckle over the Work Style Questionaire where it says there are no right or wrong answers, cause they will judge & scruitinise anything written to get the most capable employees Laughing

Well, it would appear RC Recruitm't had been trying to get hold of me for 2 weeks, since I applied for this position, they rang home this afternoon, & my older brother was just lucky for me, to be home from work for lunch at the time, this he gave them my Mob. No# & I recieved a call at 1445, this I completed the phone interview & I'm off to the assessm't centre on Tues. 01/07 @ 12noon, for the second time this year Exclamation Razz (first was on Sat. 23/02 for the Trainee Suburban Guards Position)... So will see how I go...

Well, I did the Info. Session & Entry Assessm't Centre at 12:00 Yesterday Tues. 1 July, only had the do the SCAAT Test (Safety, Concerntration & Attn Test) same as all the Internals (read Guards) applying for the positions, as I'd done the comprehension Test & the 3-other Job-Related Tests on Sat. 23 Feb, when I applied for the Guards Positions...

At first, they read out about 10 names, these were people that had sat the required tests in the past 12mths, but didn't meet the required standards to continue on, I was sitting their thinking, "hell I hope I'm not one that's on that list, as I've come over 1562Km for today, I didn't come over all this distance, after having sat through the Info. Session, to then be told only 15mins later... "sorry you didn't make the grade: "You are the Weakest Link... Goodbye" Then they read out the next list, which was for people that had sat the required Job-Related Testing over the past 12 Mths, & had made the required grade... These were all mostly Guards, I was thinking please, have my name their on that list, & sure enough it was the last name read out in that list Exclamation Razz They then went on to say, those on this list, would only have to complete the SCAAT Test, which as it took the longest to mark, would be the first test/cab of the rank completed for the day...

The SCAAT Test, Seemed easy enough, I got about ½ to ¾ of the way, through each of the grids in the 3 sub-tests as part of the SCAAT Test... Now I just have to wait & see how I went & hope recruitm't rings me, to progress on to the next Assessm't Centre...

You should be fine I reckon as long as you were pretty acurate. I completed about same, and I made it through. Good luck. PM me if you have any questions, I might be able to help.

I received an e-mail saying I was unsuccessful and had not met the required standard in the Job Related Testing.

I got the exact same email responce for the Guards Position for which I applied in Feb. this year.

Hence when I sat the Entry Assessm't Centre for the Trainee Drivers Positions, I really throught, I wouldn;t be able to progress beyond the info session, but my grades for the previous 3 tests I sat were high enough to pass & sit for the SCAAT Test...

So far I haven't recieved an email or a call for this position: Trainee Driver, from RC Recruitm't... Althrough, I did recieve a blank email about 0815am this morning with nothing in it, & a blank sender & to field!

My mate who is becoming a driver told me his references were called up today. He had his group interview and roleplay on Monday.
