Post Office, Post Shop, call 'em what you will. Or try your local library if you're not wired to the outside world from home.
Most will be able to offer internet access and you should be able to scan and email your CV from there. Make sure you go back to check for replies though!
If you can find a decent internet cafe with fair and reasonable prices you can also use that service but most will charge you for a couple of hours what you'd pay for a month's service at home. I did once find a massage parlour with internet cafe included though ..........

There seems to be a bit of obvious dislike on this forum toward anyone from outside Australia with train driving quals looking for work in Australia!
I have noted this from the amount of deleted and locked threads on that subject of late.
Why is this so?

There might be individuals with a negative attitude but otherwise the worst you might encounter is a little tongue-in-cheek jibing now and again.
At the end of the day Australia is a hugely multicultural society where almost everyone has, or has had immediate family, come from another country within the last 3 or 4 generations.
Australia is also known for good-natured disrespect - don't take it personally, embrace it and take it to heart.

Actually, I would challenge that, and say the opposite. There is a total of ONE locked "overseas employment" thread, with a duplicate in Thread Storage.
As for this thread - IP of original poster is in Jo'burg - there is nothing to indicate that it has anything to do with train driver employment at all. As the OP has never reposted, we don't know any different.
All comments made by myself are as a private citizen, and are not made on behalf of QR.

Tend to agree.
I seem to recall one or two British drivers being made very welcome, and given lots of detailed information on the train driving scene here (esp. in Victoria, from memory).
We need drivers still, don't we? I suspect the only aggro might be from local kiddies who can't get a start.
