I have been biting my tongue for long enoguh, but enough is enough.

I am fed up with the lack of respect shown towards the Pope by some in this thread, and the people who are attending the WYD events.
For starters, it seems trendy to bag the Pope in here.....let me drag you into the real world by saying, 'It aint'. Grow up, and at least show the man some repsect for the position he holds. In regard to his youth, you don't know the full story of how he became to be in the German Army...was he forced to join? did his parents make him join? Di dyou realise that it may not have been by his choice or doing?

Secondly, the anti-WYD comments here amaze me.
Get over it.
Would you rather thse kids spend their youth doing drugs, drinking themselves stupid, or having sex and siring a child?
Or is it that there is jealousy afoot, jealous of some people out there who can have some fun in a christian environment without the need for drugs or alcohol [its called getting a life].

Lastly, funding of transport for WYD.
Again so what?
WYD and it attendant activites provides social, and economic, benefits to society. You want to withdraw extra transport arangements because it is religious based....following along that thinking, if i detest the Olympics, so I am justified in thinking that anything the government did towards the Olympics was totally wrong Confused

I think we have gone past the point of many rules of Railpage Australia™, and our terms of use. For those who have not or will not go and reads them here they are, with some of the revelant sections.

Discrimination

Religion is a passionate debate. No right or wrong, yet it is a basic human issue that we all yearn to talk about. No matter whether yo believe or not etc etc. is not in the scope of this thread.

Nor has some of the langage, implications, and judgements posted in this thread. It will cease for now. No new threads, no smart ways to get around this. I will notice and with my fellow moderators will act.

No one has won or lost this "discussion" - it is simply ended here at Railpage Australia™. Get back to other issues, or perhaps some train stuff.

Regards,
David Head
