Are you using a Logitech mouse? If so, a google search found the following:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307580

Failing that I don't know. What has changed in MSTS and/or on your computer since you last ran MSTS without an error?

At the risk of repeating myself, what has changed in MSTS and/or on your computer since you last ran MSTS without an error?

If MSTS was working one day and stopped working the next day something must have changed either in MSTS or your computer. When you workout what changed that would indicate what the cause is.

If you don’t know what changed and no one else can offer a solution I would do the following.

Uninstall MSTS and delete the folder where it was installed so any add-ons are deleted as well. Reinstall MSTS and test immediately to see if the error persists. If it does then it is something in Windows that is causing the problem and that is beyond me to resolve this for you.

If MSTS does work OK then install the MSTS Patch, MSTS Bin (if you use it), Xtracks and Newroads ONE at a time and test MSTS to ensure all is still OK.

Then keep adding ONE addon at a time and test to see if the problem re-occurs. If it does then it was the last item you added to MSTS that is the cause.

Report back your findings in detail.
