Hi all, 
Some of you will know that i am looking at building a 4mm ZA,
I have got some good info so far in ways of diagrams, with the only problem being a lack detailed measurements.
Can any one please help me out?

Beyond the selection of outline diagrams (which tend to have the same dimensions on them anyway, and differing levels of accuracy when it comes to the rest of the details), the only real option is to visit the National Archives and see what they can come up with. Whilst they have a lot plans of (literally) nut and bolt detail, there should be something that has key dimensions of the majors bits like nose, cab and hood. These drawings are not scanned like some of the other series.
If you can get hold of a square on photo, and can scale it to known dimensions, this can also help, as can working straight off the scaled plan. Also don't forget estimating off photos and relating parts by proportions to known dimensions.
In many cases these techniques when used together will give an acceptable level of accuracy

Sneak up to one and run the measuring tape over it?
My mate has a copy of the general arrangement drawing on his wall, but I dont think that has the measurements you're looking for.
Don River Railway, Tasmania -U/V class driver, Trainee Fireman, Trainee Railcar driver and Shunter extraordinaire!

No problems. I dont think you will find any other drawings with more detailed dimensions. Those shown would be enough to get the scale to measure other parts.

Yeh, thats it,
I think ill just print a copy of the top diagram (to scale) and cut and paste to styrene accordingly (great idea Stuart!)
If i get really bored ill open the diagram in photoshop and break it down into suitable templates to glue straight on to the styrene to aid in cutting
