Not sure exactly when they run though Question

Of a weekday, T182 runs from Sandown to Botany just after the curfew lifts (around 9am?). A return trip train returns to Sandown from Botany around lunch time, usually behind one or more EL/GL's. This shunts and forms an evening service to Narrabri (or perhaps Blayney?).

Of an afternoon, when a fuel train is due to run, I think a fuel service leaves around 2-4pm, to Clyde to shunt before forming the Canberra/Tamworth/whatever fuel train. I've seen this a couple of times, but with no regular pattern. Hopefully someone else can share more info.

Certainly not many freights though! After peak curfew, the return of T182 (T183?) returns, but it'd be dark by then...

T181 goes out to Sandown at about 0400.

Oil train is T194, D193, D194 (they run the wagons out then bring the locos back) Depends on the day but the Oil train can be 8194 (west) 5194 (north) or 2194 (south).

To answer my own question about "is it gone", it certainly is, as I spotted it at Bombo on an up Kiama to Dapto shuttle recently:

(Damn sun on the wrong side!)

An interesting contrast scenery-wise to the Carlo. I'm glad that the graffiti that was on the front of it at Dapto in May, and still on it when running Carlingford shuttles in June/July, has finally been cleaned off Razz

You could do worst, in a way it's actually better that the sun is right on the track, not only it's lighting bits of the shady side of the train but it's also bringing out most of the awesome ocean background. Smile

That's actually a good shot in my books. At least you didn't take a shot of a train THEN realized the sun crossed the tracks in the 20 minutes you were there. Embarassed

Been meaning to check out that part of Bombo. I wonder how it would go when the northbound ARG trip comes along.

A bit like this? Razz

The sun moved to the right side after L3 passed, but I don't like that kind of high sun lighting. The days are getting longer (yay!) and the sun is getting higher in the middle of the day as time goes on.

I'm always on the lookout for where the sun is - for example, at Bombo it crossed the tracks in the time between when I got off the train and walked to the beach. Always a bummer when it does so and there's nowhere to cross the tracks within easy reach.

In the case of your shot at Menangle, you would have only had to walk 5 metres to the right Razz

Ah yes, we went after 9182.

After arriving at Nowra late due to traffic (doh!), we saw it was already leaving. Grabbed a couple of shots at the Jaspers Brush, before racing it to Berry to get it waiting at the home signal, and again at the platform as the staff exchange was carried out.

We lost it coming through Kiama, and as they had to be held to cross a down passenger, we gave up on it and went after some food.

L3 has gone but they've replaced it with what appears to be L12 (with Flemington blue plates).

An L set, made up of M-T-M, has a better power/weight ratio, obviously. Could this be an operating advantage on the Carlo grades/curves?

overall it whould be but also it is much better than a 2 car set. ie 2 of everything rather than one on a normal 2 car set.

Exactly what I was hinting at Wink .
More a case of either will end on Friday 25th July or will remain after they see if it is sufficent capacity or not. Exclamation

I guess the final option was the final result, they just made up a new set of 3 cars.

Now who said it was only for WYD Rolling Eyes , just got to read between the running lines Embarassed sorry 'bout that.
