19.Freightliner Australia.

Taken from here:http://www.railpage.com.au/f-t11329769.htm

Freightliner Australia
Although it redirects you to the UK page.

I don't think it has got off the ground to be honest, I read they were linked to Southern & Silverton, but as to what progress has been made I wouldn't have the slightest.

Its interesting to note that V/Line Passenger are accredited in NSW. I understand it would be for the Wodonga - Albury BG section, but does this accreditation allow for V/Line Passenger to run over any rail in NSW?

Coote industrial are painting their units in Freightliner colours they own Silverton/southern so i would say a joint venture may be kicking off real soon.

Is there any difference between having accreditation to be an operator, and having accreditation to actually operate on the rail network?

I'm curious to know which Companies listed are accredited to actually run their own trains (And this includes both Tourist Railways, Light Rail/Monorail, as well as Mainline mobs).

Thanks!

Cheers

There really isn't such a thing as "the rail network"

You must be an Accredited Operator to be able run trains (or carry out work) on any section of track, whether you want to run 200m on a 2' gauge stand-alone line or Albury to Border loop

You must be an Accredited Operator (or accredited infrastructure manager - terminology varies on this) to be able to manage track for yourself or others to operate on

The original application for accreditation would have included details about the scope of the operations I wish to be accredited for, anything beyond this would need to be managed in negotiations with the regulator.

It is very different matter of negotiations between a track manager and accredited operator over access to a section of track. In theory (if you are a big operator and/or don't require a change in accreditation), nothing to do with the regulator, and is purely a commercial agreement between train operator and track manager.

Regards,

Stuart
