I just thought I'd ask out there if anyone is aware or knows of a coal train that is to operate out of Cowra in the near future, and then heading to Port Kemlba via Harden and the Main South? Be great to have some traffic out there, although I'm just curious as to know what colliery it'd be serving in the area and where such a train would be loaded from in the vincinity.
I've been Googling for coal mines around Cowra but I don't see any. There does seem to be talk of an open cut limestone and magnetite mine south of Cowra. See this here ABC article for details.
It's not just LVR heading out to pick up some steam loco fodder, is it?

There was / is an underground somewhere in that area. Last I heard they were trucking it somewhere. They were looking for B Double drivers a few years back.
In the PN drivers at Moss Vale thread in the Employment forum Fireman Dave made mention of ore traffic starting up soon out of Cowra going to Port Kembla.
