They are going to dig up the S class buried under the hill at Newport Workshops, gauge convert it and then lease it out.

latest info I have recieved on this is they are JT30CW's coming from Denmark. They have been purchased from a leasing company called Railton. First expected to arrive at Carrington late March 2005.

Does this purchase of locos have anything to do with the ownership changes at LVRF?

They are using a very primative dialect, but I do believe that they think I am some sort of god

Geez, I hope not! As locos go they don't get much uglier than that.

They'd need a lot of work done on them. They are screw coupled for a start and would need frame strengthening to cope with the torsional forces of auto couplers.

Frame strengthening sounds like a big enough job that they'd only be useful for parts. Imagine the litigation if a crew was killed because the frame folded up in a collision.

Only a rumor going around but could have some substane to it, Patricks will lease the locos LVRF return to CFCLA when their own locos arrive from overseas. This would not be to far wrong as SSR crews operate Patrick trains at present.

Is that why locomotives don't have mothers? Question Question
