Had a thought the other day that not to many photos of the Sprinters appear on the net in the original Met Teal livery so here a copy of pics of the Sprinters on thier delivery runs & during thier building.
7001

7015 the last of the teal livery

and 1 shot of 7017 in the red

Hope these are of interest, in a personal opinion I think the original teal livery was the best livery applied to the Sprinters

Nice work - I can only just remember the last of the teal Sprinters.

I was digging though some early 1990s Newsrail magazines, when they were first delivered, they ran a 10 car consist out to Ballarat for test purposes! They also ran them out to the Melbourne Showgrounds for the Royal Show one year.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane! Comparing the teal Sprinters to the Blood and Bone, they certainly wore the Teal far better than the B&B...

You wouldn't happen to know the locations at all?

Would love to see photos of a 10 car lashup, too! Wink Longest consist I've seen is 1/2 that. Laughing

I always thought the teal/yellow livery was the best on the sprinters. Here's a couple that are on my site:

Two on the down at Kilmore East in 2000:

Spencer Street in 2000:

Yep the teal livery is definately the best livery the sprinters ever went into.

The pics appear to be taken at Goninans in Spotswood.

The maximum number of Sprinters that can be operated as one consist driven from the leading car is eight (Cool . This is the maximum cars that the voltage in the driving control cable can power.
Under the acceptance trials the maximum consist test was run on the Ballarat line with 8 cars . The maximum speed test was run with multiple cars between Werribeeand Little River on the West Line under special approval and IIRC 142 kmh was achieved .

Was on both runs .

They have the MET logo on front. Were they not originally for V/Line?

Some nice pics there, thanks for sharing them with us 4705-44201NB

The teal is the best livery out of the lot, maybe we will see it again one day when the sprinters are heritage units, but that is a hell of a long way away.

The photo of a new 7003 is interesting
It has had an interesting life surviving a slide down an embankment at Ballan
I seen it tonight and it has 2 shades of silver paint on the top of it
Has it had another mishap or a modification?
