It would help to know which way it was going.
Usually when a second train assists with a push it is only until they reach the next loop, and they proceed at very low speed only.
This has happened many time in the Adelaide hills

Hi All,
I talked to a guy who was with National Rail at Port Kembla, when the NR's first arrived on the scene and he said that they were planning on fitting the NR's with loco control for steel trains out of Port Kembla up the mountain road to Moss Vale. A cousin of mine who was an electrical engineer also confirmed this to me when he worked for "Goninans" when they were first built. I was going to be an "future" add on, but I haven't heard if this add on ever eventuated?
