Hey Hurstville1.. which train are you after? as there is a few different ARG Manildra trains running at one time? Is it the Auburn to Nowra run you mainly want?

Cheers Adam

Yeah, the ones to/from Nowra, as I am aware that there have been Motive Power Shortages and they are hiring other Operators' Locos

I will keep an eye out for you then with what I see through Engadine.. I can hear them coming usually which helps with the down freighters.

Tuesday night there was a down wheat train with 8162, three 48'ers and a mixture of the big Manildra MGFH's and 76 tonne PacNat hoppers. Seemed to have a three man crew. Road revision for a takeover maybe? A bit later there was a container working on the up with, I think, A KL and at least one SSR loco. Following that, I heard the lusty chant of some older EMD units on the up, possibly the normal empty flour Manildra job. Today 8162 and the three 48'ers headed back towards town, this time with an all PacNat rake of grain hoppers.

I know there's talk of ARG losing the Manildra contract, and it is the end of the month... The PacNat working could be explained away as the irregular but not unheard of grain run they do to Nowra for Manildra, although the MGFH's are unusual. The late night containers on the up is unusual but could just be a very late 9182. There's stuff happening but it's hard to call if it's significant or not.

SCT's G512 is on a 3month hire
CFCLA's GM10 & T387 have also been getting used in the past week

September 23rd is the end of the current ARG/Manildra contract, and the day we'll see if the rumours are correct about PN taking over or not.

Are these locos being put on the container train, the flouries or both?

Also just wondering the SWTT says the Flourie via Moss Vale now runs on Saturday instead of Sunday.

Is this right or just a typo?

Thanks, Vince

I bloody hope they dont.. otherwise the Illawarra is getting more 81 classes pulling trains.

I do like 81's by the way.. but they dont have the same charm as a L/31 class

The official date is November 23rd, however this may be brought forward somewhat if PPL/PN can get their act together in time.

Cheers
