EMD-SD45X hi mate give around East Maitland / Maitland a go i saw a few motels around that area close to the tracks also check out the beer garden of the pub at East Maitland it backs onto the lines just on the maitland side of the east maitland station next to the underpass under the line....great food good service good staff....watch out for the feral wrinklies at lunch time though those zimmer frame walkers are dangerous.

What! Bad Day. Noo! You call QRN 421/423/X Class, Coote C classes, Austrac 48s and Pelton 48s/PLs (granted, stupid 82. Who's idea was that...!) along with great company a HOPELESS DAY!

That's Wack! Razz

Awesome shots Guys. Glad to hear you guys had a fun day out! Shame that not only you guys saw repainted NRs (on a full PacNat lash too Spew ) but also repainted Xploders of both origin. Nice work on stopping by Gonads too Well Done

Whilst on the Hunter area, does anyone know of any Gunzel "friendly" Motels or B&Bs in the area as myself (and my B Unit) are going up for a few days next month and would like to stay in a Motel that has views (even distant) of the lines from the Island to up past Singleton?

Book well in advance if you want to stay any where in the Singleton-Mbrook area as the coal industry keeps filling them. Years ago I stayed in a pub in Singleton, Agricultural Hotel, which I recall had rail noises all night. If it has been done up to motel std it should suit but if not... NO.

Greg, I like the quad 82 coalie and even more the QRN coalie. You have the modern trains and track with all the old buildings and stations. Should be a good shot for a steam tour too.

Stop doing that, you give yourself too little credit - how about them shots of that 2-pack container wagon? Neither one of us got anything there...
