Trent (Raichase),Anthony (42209) and myself went for a drive up to the hunter valley/Newcastle area today for some gunzeling and a blokey day out.
We did not get to see much at UGR or at East maitland but here are some of our pics of a boring day out gunzel wise.
UGR broadmeadow

5001

37 class QR spark

Back end of a Oscar/4833 and a rail mounted crane.

92 class bits outside the paint shop.

Assuming those were all taken on the street, United Goninan at Broadmeadow looks like a great place to go for some shots of things being worked on (on a day with nice weather). I'll have to try it.

East Maitland not much to see there realy.
Hunter cars.

Coote industrials UP Pelton coal train with 2 x 48 class.

Unusual coal train 82/pl2/48/48 it went to vales point to unload.

Freshly painted in new colours endeavour set.

82x 4 on a coal train.

Nothing special just 2 repainted NR class and a DL.

Oh yeah my first ever QRN coal train.

I cannot lie it was a bloody FANTASTIC days gunzelling with great mates and great weather. Laughing Very Happy Very Happy Cool Cool

Am feeling a bit crook (that cheeseburger came back to haunt me after I left you blokes), will have my shots up tomorrow night - need to get to bed or back to the bathroom floor...

Was a great day out lads, pity we didn't see any interesting trains. Good thing we had good company!

How about that all-pn coloured lashup on the intermodal. BORING. Plus, those repainted Endeavours and Xplorers all in one day, they'll be as common as grains of sand on a beach soon enough, pity we didn't get any interesting things in their old colours.

And what about that annoying 82 Class blocking the shots of the 48/pl class! Of all the times for an 82 and 48 to run together, must be a rare movement, why did we get lumped with it? And that damned Coote container train blocking shots of the flamboyant coloured locos we saw doing a turn on the triangle.

We didn't see anything good, good thing we had fun nonetheless.

Laughing

The Hunter sure has changed since I last went up there!

For starters, no 620/720s, different liveried NRs, Endeavours and the odd 90 Class, this massive rail bridge thingo at Sandgate, and coal trains to Pelton weren't just a rumour Cool

Cheers

Not all of us are "pro" photographers who get published monthly like some people here, how about you stop having a poke at Greg and go bother someone who cares. Sick to death of you picking on people here and not contributing anything of your own.

He's running out of places to poke Greg after his several lashings over at RailBastard.

Oscar, give it up. It's becoming very tiresome now. Could we please cease with the subtle snipes at Greg? I'm not even gonna bother sorting this one Rolling Eyes

Bah, no matter how intoxicated I may or may not have been in Sefton, the after effect was nowhere near as fun as this Neutral

I'm going to bed, I promise to get photos up tomorrow night!

Hopeless? What the hell are you talking about there was plenty of action there. Rolling Eyes
Try the Blue Mountains and then you can say it was hopeless.

Good pics by the way. Smile
