Hey all,
I went down to Kiama last weekend, and i noticed that there were almost as many V sets running as there were OSCARS. I thought the OSCARS had taken over most (if not all) the South Coast duties.
Can anyone else give me more information.
Thanks,
Jahommed

Well the OSCARs were basically meant to run where the G and T sets were running down the coast, as well as a few V set runs. But the majority as I've seen are OSCARs

From Cityrail Website:
The Oscars represent an investment of $439 million and their introduction will free up Tangara trains to augment services in high demand areas including the Western Line.

As H-Sets are 4 or 8 car trains, the 6V rosters continue to be... well, 6V's. Asute people would realise that all regular V-set workings on the South Coast Line are 6V's - very rare to see a 4V on that line now.

On a trip that I made last week to Kiama about half seemed to be Oscars with the rest being 6 car V sets and 3 car L sets.
I even saw an SCT G class on an ARG train.
After not having been there since 1999 it was interesting to see how things had changed and stayed the same.
Bring the 3900s back to Brisbane
Bring Karlsruhe Tramtrains to Australian cities
Extend the proposed Metro to Taylor Square
Extend the Gold Coast line to the Tweed

We get:
4/8 Car Oscars
6 Car V sets
3 Car L sets (3 if I remember correctly). They do the Port Kembla-Thirroul shuttles.
Hope this helps.

I went to Wyong last weekend. The Blue goose was still running. I couldnt catch the set number or wat it was coupled to, but it was running. It was in a 2 car set coupled with another 2 car set. The other cars were all Candy livery.
