Hi All,

On my travels today I came across a very strange and silly thing.

I got the train from Engadine at 8:30 and being a weekend it was a all stopper.

Well when we hit Rockdale I noticed that we were also stopping at St Peters and Erskinvelle.

BUT, what I didn't notice until my mate Mitch pointed it out was on the board at Banksia the stops were:

Arncliffe, Wolli Creek, Tempe, St Peters, Erskinville, Sydenham, Redfern....

Well that made e laugh just thinking that someone put it as a joke on the screen, well when they had it at Arncliffe, Wolli Creek and Tempe. I realized that someone stuffed up somewhere.

So theres my story of the day Razz

Moral if it is "Not even CityRail know what order there stops are in"

Kaine

This most likely was because of the trackwork on the Bankstown line.

Well, we had a great automated announcement at Ashfield this morning - can't remember exactly what it was, but it was along the lines of "Attention passengers ... can ... passengers ... are can ... for your cooperation".

It played again this morning, and so I noted the wording (I was a little way off):
"Passengers are advised where possible passengers can ... so can ... Cityrail appreciates your cooperation."

That reminds me of a computer system error on Melbourne's Comeng trains the Voiceover would announce comming into Camberwell "Now Arriving at Camberwell change here for Cranbourne service" instead of "Now Arriving at Camberwell change here for Alamein service" it would announce the connection for Cranbourne instead of Alamein. It was fixed pretty quickly though. It only lasted a couple of weeks

Autumn, Cold and Wet. The Sprinters settle in with the Stony Point Line. The 1st Mulhouse Tram from France begin testing along Route 96. Overall a busy photographic month with Gunzel trips to Corio and Lara on the Geelong Line, Ballarat on the Western Line and Castlemaine and Kyneton on the Bendigo Line

Well if you look at the track and signal diagram for Oakleigh in the 1890s (in the waiting room there) you will see a track marked "To Burnley". If only they hadn't ripped it up, the message would be right.
