Great shots as always 42101. Always nice to see pics from a maintenance perspective.

Pardon my stupidity but what is 'tamping' or is tamping a fancy name for trackwork?

oren thanks Very Happy
Tamping is the process of packing the ballast around the sleepers and points timbers, to hold them in place the tamper lifts the track a little and forces the ballast underneath and around the sleepers/timbers.

Wow - great shots again - there's some interesting angles in that, and the shots are, like you said, parts we don't get to see (as an average punter)!

Lovely photos Well Done. When does the overhead wiring rebuild on the Lidcombe - Clyde section begin?

Thanks mate Very Happy
No idea about a upgrade except the new substation just at the throat of clyde yards appears to be completed.

Ah, the wonders of an occo!

It's your railway line and you can do what you like on it! Very Happy

That photo of the trailing unit (or is it ahead?) was priceless. We often forget that you fellows often travel "in convoy" as it were, all following each other along the section... (ya never see trains doing that) Mr. Green

Thanks for sharing...

Cheers chris yeah the regulator was trailing us like they do most times as the tamper can do 80kph and the reg is 50kph so they follow along was funny passing the new big reg in that other photo.
