One of my reliable informants from NRM tells me that the biggest shunt for a long time and the largest variety of locos and rollingstock will be shunted around and repositioned on Sunday morning between 9.00am and lunch time. Most of the stuff will be out the back (in the freebie area)ideal for photos - including many exhibits not able to have been photographed easily beforehand. The whole of the CR pavilion and half of the main display pavilion is going to be changed around. About time...after 10 years or more.... it'll get rid of some dust and cobwebs....See ya there! Cool

Good idea ARG706 we could get what the yanks call a bleecher( Grandstand) set up and sell programs etc, seriously it is a good idea to market it though! Cool

Well someone gets out a coin and it is flipped into the air, heads it goes in that place and tails it goes there.

No seriously it is all worked out on what will fit where, so as to leave walkways clear etc, we know the lengths that will fit coupled in most places and it just has to be worked out beforehand what will go where, then the shunters only need to place them there, that is the fun part.

It is sort of like on a model train, shunting to a pre-determined list that is all. It does look better on the 1:1 size though. Cool

Could the BWT be re-marshalled to make it look a little more presentable? After all the BWT is an SA icon.

Just need to see what happens mate. A lot will be moved around (I heard that the Tea and Sugar will be moved into the main pavillion) so who knows what is going to happen.

The BWT is owned by BWT. BWT wanted its train marshalled the way it is - ie wings inward. Rex the Runt from NRM tells me that the BWT will not be part of the shunt. Cool

The Barossa Wine Train is hardly an SA icon, for starters it's only actually run a handful of times in the scheme of things and the only reason an average South Australian might have heard of it is because of it's more infamous, not popular.

Got a glimpse of a tractor and a wagon outside the southern gates this arvo as I drove down Lipson street. Sorry didn't see which wagon it was.
