Today Myself, Maikha, Trent and Kaine went for a wander around the industrial area of this branch line to see what we could see and record it for posterity.
Here are some of my pics to kick off with.
D40 at Lysarts

And with the blokes in the shot.

D42 at Cringella.

81 and 82 at Port Kembla loco.

Maikha being creative with his camera.

Bluescope internal use wagons.

Hi 42101,

Nice pics. Having never been to Pt Kembla it was interesting to see.

One question I have, hoping you know the answer. In pic 2, above theguys heads, you can spot 3 three speed boards ahead but all with crosses all through them. Any idea what that means?

Nice pic from Maikha. Having done a lot of amateur photograhy myself, I like the use of oblique and isometric angles to accentuate perspective.

Cheers.

Hopefully no-one objects to me answering this...

Trial speed boards - http://www.railpage.com.au/f-t11342920.htm; details in there.

Yeah mate those speed boards are part of a trial you will see them around in different places for driver feedback purposes i think.

I spotted Maikha trying something different with his camera and thought i would get a shot of him getting one of his famous shots for posterity. Laughing

Cheers. Thanks to you and Sydney_Gunzel for the answer.

Yeah, it's funny. Once you get some good results with a camera, it's weird what you suddenly finding yourself doing to get "THE Shot".

Personally, I'd love to be on that great stretch of straight track on the Nullabor getting shots of the Indian Pacific approaching me. But I guess: a) the driver would be nervous and think I'm a nutter, b) I'd get nervous and think I'm a nutter.

Once again, thanks for the great pics. Keep taking the shots! Very Happy

Nice photos especially the 2nd one, very creative.

Mind if join in with some of mine from earlier this year?

I have to say, you don't expect to see such a developed industrial place in that sort of area.

I really should get off my lazy punce & upload my fotos of the area I took earlier this year on Naza's Guided Tour... Kill Me
The only problem is of the 3 computers, I have here in this house Bang Head I can't remember which bloody one I d/loaded them too Exclamation Embarassed

Hi all

The following are my shots. I didn't concentrate much on taking photos, as I wanted to go down there plainly for reconnaissance for future trips down there.

Port Kembla

Cringilla

(Notice something not right here?)

Lysayghts

Enjoy!

Cheers
