Melbourne Suburban Disruptions (Since Metro Introduction)

  SwanstonTrain Train Controller

A V/Line P class and H cars train is in the dirt, blocking access to Melbourne Yard. It will be fun for Metro with trains needing to shunt out.
"DalyWaters"

Will more than likely use Craigieburn/ Broadmeadows and Bayswater

Is this derailment still causing problems? If so how long until it is fixed?
"Boss"

They are currently separating that train into P&1H and 5H&P so hopefully all will be well for the afternoon peak.

Werribee and Williamstown lines are being delayed due to a signal fault at Newport.
Minor Delays - Werribee Line: both directions, Due to an ongoing equipment fault at Newport, delays up to 15 minutes.

Their is also an article about it on the Herald Sun. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/train-delays-for-commuters-on-the-williamstown-and-werribee-lines/story-e6frf7jo-1225808770629

There was a lengthy disruption on the Upfield this afternoon when Comeng set 697M-1199T-698M died in the up platform at Royal Park. Another 3 car set (528M-1198T-696M) was brought in from behind to attach and push the the defective set towards the city. During the 2 hour? disruption Metro staff were advising intending pax to take the route 19/55 tram route instead.
Attached pic shows the relief set about to couple to the defective one at Royal Park.

That'll teach them for letting a chopper set run around as 3 cars. They should know by now they always need backup. That set was already down to 75% motors.

I have no idea what Rodman is on about Sad. Poor 697M-1199T-698M  Sad Add least 528M-1198T-696M was nice enough to rescue it. Hooray for Comeng mateship! Razz

Someone was stabbed at Ringwood at about 21:00 tonight. 3 police cars and 2 ambulances turned up while I was waiting for the Lilydale (which was 910M). The victim was on the disused platform 3 side, and there is a cracked window there as well. No disruptions to trains though.

According to the Bureau to Meteorology, its currently 28 degrees outside, and Metro on their website is indicating good service on all lines. I don't think it will be good service for long Razz Also hers a short article about the incident at Ringwood last night. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/police-hunt-teenager-who-allegedly-stabbed-17-year-old-boy-at-ringwood-station/story-e6frf7jo-1225810755475

Yep. Canceled trains on the Belgrave, Craigieburn, Epping, Frankston, Glen Waverley, Hurstbridge, Lilydale, Sydenham, Werribee lines. Hmmm, I wonder how many of those cancellations were caused by buckling tracks or the unions pulling Comeng trains out of service due to faulty air conditioners again?

What are you trying to achieve?  Post whoring?

The union doesn't pull Comeng trains out of service due to faulty air conditioners.  The Fault Management Protocol devised by Connex and agreed upon by the Union determines when trains are removed from service.

Anyway, according to the Metro website, the Belgrave and Lilydale lines have been hit with major delays due to a faulty train at Camberwell.

Major delays - Belgrave line: Outbound, due to faulty train near Camberwell, some trains may be delayed up to 20 minutes.

If I can figure out how to get the photo off my phone....

There was a piece of track machinery at Aircraft when I turned up 0445 this morning. Driver was looking forlornly at a recalcitrant red signal, poor bugger told me he'd been there since before 3am.

Apparently, it wasn't just the Newport frame, a goodly portion of the surrounding area lost power.
  Speed Minister for Railways

There's a thread in the Other Transport forum on a truck having hit a pylon of the Viaduct rather hard. It seems that this hasn't affected railway services.

However, "Some outbound Pakenham, Cranbourne & Frankston trains may be altered to bypass the City Loop " due to an ill passenger at Parliament.
  Speed Minister for Railways

Metrotrains reports delays on the Werribee line. Supposedly, they're at Laverton so they're not power problems at Newport.
