AWB rep told me there was plenty of grain around Sea Lake. Also grain report on the radio a few days ago said Australias grain crop this year was 6% higher than last year despite the only states having good crops being Vic and SA. So it looks like there will be plenty to shift. Silo at Murchison has started storing grain in the external stack so they must have a fair bit and when I went passed (at around 0800) there were at least 6 trucks waiting to unload.

Will be nice to see some grain moving in Victoria on any gauge. Riding past the Geelong Grain Loop this week the rails were solidly covered in rust and have not seen a train for some time.

El Zorro will more than likely use SRV locos S313,T395 or T356,SRHCs B74,S303,T357 and T378, 707ops T413 and CFCLAs T369,T377 and recently active B80 for the BG grain

the SG grain would consist of either S300,S302,T342,C501,GM36 or AWB Gs ex SCT doubt they will bring a EL down from NSW to help out with 2009/2010 Grain Season

Last year the crop was really poor, season was very dry then rained heavily during harvest which destroyed the value of what was left. This year is MUCH better. No silos where open in NE and GV Vic last year at least three are open this year.

Can i get times from somewhere for these trains as I plan to get photos of these trains.

Just got an email from a reliable source saying that B74+S301 will do a grain to Woorinen (between Swan Hill and Pira) after leaving Seymour 1100-ish Monday 14/12/09.

I am guessing they will run to Melbourne light, get wagons and then head off to Woorinen via Kyneton, but this is all the information I can supply at the moment.

Doesn't S301 Belong to PN doubt they'd be happy letting it get leased to elzorro, thinking S303, maybe something strange has happened at PN.

It is just leased to Steamrail, same with 306 and 307. PN own them.

Which was the reason for my first statement.
Some how PN would not like there loco being sub leased to a competitor.
Added to the fact that B74 and S303 are with SRHC, and S301 is with SRV. Though S301 might well have been subleased, depends on the leasing agreement between PN and SRV

S313 will more than likely run some grainy's. But i doubt S301, we may be wrong though.

I would assume that he ment to write S303 as it would make much more sense that the two Seymour locos would be running together.

Lets hope if they are going to refuel in Kerang yard they don't put the fuel hoses over the main line again, and tell centrol this time.

You are a real estate agents dream. So hard to get people to live near those railway lines!

Should provide you with some interesting photo opportunities.
