PID List?

  Rogaco Station Master

Is there a PID list somewhere? Maybe we can start one up for all the lines... I've noticed Seven Hills and Burwood on the Western have had new PID's installed recently.

And I guess we have to categorise the type of PID's...

I don't know what they're called by I can describe them.

- Portrait style with blue screen (City stations)
- Landscape style side-by-side screen (White and newer PID's)
- Orange dot matrix
- No PID's

Because we dont need them, the people of the South Coast are all psychic and simply know when the train is coming and where it will stop Mr. Green

Actually, what we do have is a lot of the old woodboard style with the manual clock.

Loftus - Helensburgh do not have them YET.

Engadine I know has all the equipment in the booking office but the PIDS are not installed. Not to sure but pretty sure its the same for Loftus and Heathcote Smile

Seems like the Western line is the last to get the PIDs and the blue station signs too...so slow! I'm guessing the Inner West line stations will be done before the rest of the Western line too...

Well, to be fair, it's the worst part of Sydney, you can't expect good things. Crappy stations, crappy little signal boxes, crappy trains. Don't expect the Waratahs any time soon. lol j/k

Just curious, who controls the PIDS at Westmead and Seven Hills? I can't imagine it's any box out west.

I thought it all ran and was tied in with ATRICS controlled signalling.

Most likely controlled from ATRICS @ Homebush

Wow serious? Haven't gone on a train yet lately. But I will be able to when I go back to uni next week.
But wow, Seven Hills got those before Blacktown? I know the CityRail customer charter thing says that they plan to install those PID's at 7 additional stations before August.
I so hope Blacktown is one of them!

*Edit: Is Blacktown actually slated to receive this at all?  Laughing

Several South line stations have the twin monitor setups.

Anyone know the cost per unit and expected life of the monitors  Question

Thanks. That's what I thought. Westmead & Seven Hills seem out of place compared to where all the other LICS screens were installed.

To add to the list. According to accessing Cityrail publication, Macarthur, Newtown & Unanderra will be getting the PIDS.

No, it's some other setup, controlled locally.  Westmead was the pilot for it.   And I'm surprised Seven Hills got it so quickly.

This is why both Westmead and Seven Hills have the yellow line identified colour on their displays, while Lidcombe, Granville, Parramatta and Blacktown do not - it's a different type of control software.

I believ that ATRICS doesn't extend out west, but am open to correction on that one as I don't know too much about it.  I only heard it mentioned in reference to the Westmead PIDS setup.

The Pass Info Displays are controlled via a system called PICS and are done at Stations and Signal Boxes and also RPICS rooms at Central, Town Hall and Wynyard.

Oh, you mean Blacktown has those new screens now too? Or do they still have that scrolling lights thing still?
