Guys, we have the next 2 sites for webcam installation sorted. He could have a 3rd if we can get some connectivity sorted to that site.

Anyhow, would like to get moving with some new cameras.  All donations gratefully received.

Brian,

Just a suggestion if anyone is interested to wanting to see live video coverage, Did you maybe had in mind to maybe create aLivestream account and use Livestream Prodcaster and use one of the cameras that points to the railway line as a webcam to rail enthuisiasts who loves to see from another location what trains passes by at the Bunbury Stree Live?

Don't have to agree with it, thought I'd ask a suggesting inquiry.  8)

Cheers,
Josh

This is a no go given the level of vandalism in the area. However I am in discussions with someone who can assist in southern NSW.

Brian, I have a general question or two on the ads that on this web site. What financial benefit does Railpage receive? (I guess they pay for allowing the ad to appear on the web page.)

So what happens if the user has ad-blocking utilities installed in their browsers? Obviously if the user cannot see them they cannot be clicked on so they would be no use to the advertiser or Railpage.

So how does it work and what is the best for Railpage?

Railpage is paid when users click and open the ads. People with ad-block plugins running obviously cannot do this, so some of them graciously donate in lieu of clicking on the ads. Some do both Smile

If you have any further questions, please PM bevans directly - best keep this thread on-topic.

I have equipment from a number of vendors and custom software and services to make the entire project work. Around Melbourne and Geelong there are 5 types of cameras in use.

Once the data is received Michelle12 runs the group who update the camera images throughout the day.

Servicing of the equipment is undertaken monthly.

Cameras and installation costs quite a great deal of money and the backhaul also needs to be installed.

PHower and TransitJim,

Tallarook is a no go as there has been theft in the past of "fake" security cameras there and the station is not manned
like it is at Seymour!

As for SRHC you would have to contact them during business hours to discuss this matter further!

Why do you keep bringing it up? Nobody has suggested Tallarook since August 2011.
