Certainly was, it was good to see the CF,GWU and CEY out and it was CF4405 behind the GWU. Now back in W.A as of this morning after 3 states, was good to catch up briefly in Melbourne.

Thanks for the link - when listening to one at Werris Creek the other w'end, it was deduced that they were 645's, but nice to be certain!

The southbound QUBE train went through Cardiff today at 11:21 hauled by 1 green RL, 1 green 48, 1103 facing forward and 1 QUBE RL. Has anyone sighted an 1100 leading on  an 'in service' run yet?

RL303 and 869 are most likely the other locomotives you seen up front, as them three hauled the QUBE service yesterday.

Am I correct that the TOC notice limits the 1100's to trailing unit status?

As well as seeing 1101 with Raichase at Werris Creek last Friday I saw 1103 earlier trailing GL110, and was guessing they might be restricted from leading. It was facing the other way though ...

Word is the cab windows are too high and blokes can't see out of them and thus they're restricted to second units etc.

Sounds like they need to add booster seats so they can see out.

Laughing Hmmm, so there was a precedent for the 1100 class high windscreen idea......

I managed to photograph 1101 leading RL306 on an Up service through Enfield on 15 Feb at 1430hrs so maybe this was a 1 off accurance.

I'm not sure if they are in regular service but they are being used as trailing, sometimes as lead units fairly regularly on 4112 freight Carrington to Botany

11:00 ex Broadmeadow Mon-Fri.

This was yesterday's combo

I caught one as second unit on 5414N containerised grain at Werris Creek at the end of January - they have been in revenue service a while, just rarely as lead units.

I caught 1101 as the lead unit a few days ago heading north. Sorry the picture is so dark, I only bought my new camera the day this photo was taken and I didnt adjust the settings right Confused

Photos received from the States show 1102 Leading FURX 7242 (ex BNSF SD40-2) on test at Paducah early February

No reports on US sites that these remaining 6 units are in transit to the wharf yet

No word yet re additional SG or NG locomotives?

Late last year NREC contracted TŽV Gredelj to build 18 export locomotives (at least 6 NG), with an additional 6 options, in 2012. There is speculation as to whom NREC have sold these units.
The Riversdale Mining/Rio Tinto order for 11 GT26C is now complete, last 5 units left Rijeka (Croatia) in February

This order was placed by Riversdale with NREC, who then subcontracted the build to TŽV Gredelj

Spoke to a POTA crew the other day and he did bring up these locomotives. In his view they are too noisy in the cab and the seats have to be jacked up just too see out of the window with your feet off the ground.

Sounds a bit like the initial RL saga all over again, with the NREC making it up as they go along and ignoring any advice from Australia/ the client.

Perhaps drivers should start wearing high heels... Mr. GreenWink
