On Thursday before Easter I noticed that track was added to the East Hills side of the Glenfield flyover.
It will be interesting to see if it gets commissioned over the weekend as there is track work for 4 days.
Rail deliveries will occur at night commencing 20 May – There will be 8 deliveries in total over five weeks.
Delivery of 110 metre lengths of track via rail to Glenfield Junction. Track construction starting 22 May from the Glenfield end of project. “Bottom ballast” (first layer of crushed rock) will be placed along the corridor. Packs of precast concrete sleepers will then be distributed along the corridor using a front end loader, and excavators will place them on the bottom ballast. Lengths of rail will also be delivered by Rail Set (a train with wagons designed to carry rail) to the site via Glenfield overnight to avoid any disruption to passenger services. These deliveries will occur on weeknights for five-weeks, totalling 8 train deliveries and 16 train movements. .
A quick question.... does anyone know when the northern flyover at Glenfield will be commissioned?
Gday everyone, new to the forum, I work on the south west rail link for John Holland and let me say things are progressing at such a pace its hard to believe the line won't be commissioned for a couple of years yet. PN 81 class with a rail delivery is on the Camden valley way bridge this morning, I have a photo but I can't upload it sorry, will try to later, thanksWelcome to the forum, and thanks for the info. I had no idea that there was enough rail already laid to get a train to Camden valley way, that's about half the length of the line! I'm looking forward to your photos, too.
