G'day all,

For the past few weeks I have been working closely with Brian Bere-Streeter and Peter Newell to bring the Byron Bay Simplex Locomotive into the MSTS world for everyone to enjoy and I am pleased to announce that the model is 1 part off from being fully completed which is the canvas and then I will add the textures to the model and then try and work out how to correctly edit the .eng file or ask if someone can do this for me

Anyway, here is the preview of the Byron Bay Simplex Locomotive in TSM

Kind Regards, Phil

Here is a much better preview, this time with the textures added by myself and Brian Bere-Streeter 8) 8)

I will also be making one with the canvas on the sides of the simplex, as well as a custom cabview but all the controls will be hidden just the view of the inside of the simplex will be seen to give it the look and feel

This is really quite cool! I stumbled across the Simplex while holidaying in Byron last year - walking along the track, I spotted a shed in the bushes besides the line and on further investigation, I found this little gem inside and had a lovely chat to the bloke inside minding it. I can't remember his name now, but it was certainly an interesting eye-opener on what happened around Byron Bay.

I definitely look forward to seeing the final product Smile

Thanks guys, I very much appreciate the kind feedback 8)

At the moment I am having a bit of trouble modelling the canvas part, but I'm sure I will get the last part done soon and I will also be attempting to  3d model the Sydney B and C Class trams to go with the Simplex for the Byron Bay area within Peter Newell's upcoming Tweed v2 route which will be terrific to see in due time 8)

G'day Phil,

As I said in a PM, you're certainly showing a great deal of potential. Keep at it!

As to the canvas blind which is giving you trouble, is it lowered completely down? What is the problem which is occuring?

Cheers,
Matt

G'day Matt,

Yes, the canvas is completely lowered down as see here at the Trams Down Under site http://tdu.to/40379.msg I can manage to model the canvas, I just need to work out how many sections I need to make it happen

If the link to the Trams Down Under site is broken, here is the simplex photo

The canvas seems to appear only on the drivers side of the cabin, but I'm not sure if it's required for both sides?

G'day all,

I had to make afew changes to my Simplex model after beta testing, so I made changes to the exhaust, thicken the headlight holders, and done many more things such as lowering the model to touch the rails in the sim and added a 3rd bogie part to allow the chain wheel spin with some hope it would work, don't worry your guys will not see the 3rd bogie 8)

Anyway, this is what my Simplex model now looks like

Now, all I need to do is added the canvas version and then send it off to Peter for distribution at the CTN site Smile
Kind Regards, Phil
