As this is the suggestions thread, are you suggesting that we all have naked photos of ourselves as our avatars? Shocked

Trust me you don't want that...
Graham4405

no Wink maybe if Brian can edit the avatar if it does break the rules

can the search feature be improved to permit the searching of trains through the cameras?  it would be useful to research when a locomotive was last seen through stawell.

That's not an insurmountable request, but it is difficult. There's a large degree of backend changes required, especially around the identification of trains (as opposed to locomotives) in photos before any of it can be indexed.

De mod mods that have not being online for 1 year+
X'Trapolis-904M

With due respect, and maybe I am over tired but your sentence makes absolutely no sense. What exactly is the suggestion? Are you saying there are no moderators?
  duttonbay Minister for Railways

I read it as "revoke moderator status of any moderators who have not been online for more than a year"

LOL, for some reason I assumed it was meant as "The mod mods" Hence my confusion! Thanks for clearing it up.

Is there a section for monorail? I know Sydney removed theirs but wasn't it supposed to go to Hobart?
Perth save big money by taking monorail upward as opposed to tunneling rail systems. Brazil has done wonders with their new monorail lines especially in Sao Paulo.
This could be counted as an overseas post since I am in the USA.
Thanks for your time.

Would tram and light rail be the best place ?

There's an "Other Transport" forum for such topics Smile

Really, other? The number of significant systems being installed around the globe regulating it to tram, trolley and other.

Ok, I will look there with hope that monorail systems will one day be given its proper space.
Please quit with the Simpson jokes too, just considering Dubai & Mumbai alone. There a number highly visible systems in the US too. Seattle Monorial pays a yearly operating fee to the city since 1968 ( opened by JFK in 1962). The Dallas Fortworth Skylink links all 5 Dallas airport terminals within security area with max 9 minute travel time. The University of West Virginia people mover, technically not a monorail, has had 90%+ reliability since 1975.
I am a train fan, mostly freight since the modern movement of people requires a modern solution that started in 1902.
Thanks again,

I'm not going to create a new forum for a very specialised discussion topic which will result in very few threads. If for whatever reason monorails become a wildly popular talking point then we can look at creating a specialised forum. Until then...

Possibly the addition of thread prefixes may be in order? Just a thought, but it would make it easier to search for these sort of threads, then there's sort of a middle ground?

We have the thumbs down herring feature, would it be at all possible conversely feature as well, similar to whirlpool?
For example, Stopblock has given a great answer in this thread
https://www.railpage.com.au/f-p1962354.htm#1962354

Which really doesnt need a response, but if you could thumbs up it, would show its value to the community. Similarly, such a feature would prevent threads being spammed with "+1+ etc comments and increase value to the overall conversation.

This is a good idea.  I would also like it if you could view all the top posts as these are many good posts and answers on this site as you point out.

There needs to be a way of identifying good posts and then being able to select them from a list of good posts.

Is there a point keeping this thread open now that we have the Ideas module?
