Hi Guys,

I have uploaded 4 videos from the early 1990's of V/Line action from Middle / West Footscray and Sunshine. Each video contains trains from a several hour period at each location. Feast your eyes on the orange and grey as well as the trains that no longer run.

X on an H set!  N on the Overland!  Wow, great videos.
This is stuff we may never see happen again.  Glory days of V/Line!

Overland actually used to be double N - not often you would see with just 1.

Brings back memories; around that era a few mates and I would often prop at that spot at Sunshine on a Thursday night watching the jets go by. Sometimes if one was particularly interesting we'd chase it to Deer Park. Every now and then we'd think what the hell and chase to Bankbox. Before long, we'd often just perch at Bankbox from about 7pm (via Bacchus hamburger shop) and get back home about 2am.

Awesome videos - and I've only watched 2 minutes of #4 Sunshine! Very Happy

Those were the days, tangerine and grey, heaps of traffic and certainly the way I remember Sunshine before it was carved up and rationalised.

I did notice the tank-tainer flat car bouncing quite violently behind the C/candy 81 combo on the SG! 0:56 to 1:00 mark. And how fast was the SG train moving... Certainly slowed down now on the SG.

Great stuff, love it!!

The glory days when Victoria only had the one narrow gauge mainline, NRC free and Victorian EMD power was seen in Victoria!

My only regret was I ended up in Weipa in the early 90's.

Thank you from Sydney

Yes I noticed the speed but did not notice the container wobbling, but I noticed the container/brands were of the old era more. The speed on some of the services and light engines seemed wild. That was one of the things I noticed when I first rode on a N-Set, it was going faster that what I was used to in NSW that I had trouble keeping up with what was outside the window :/

Thanks for posting the old vids. Great to see. It's hard to see the number but any idea on which B class is in the first vid? B61, B76 maybe?

It's actually rocking up and down, coupler to coupler, could be a bumpy part of the track and the extra speed makes it more noticeable? And yes, good to see the old TNT etc containers on the train.
